OT: Bills Fans Not Pleased with New Stadium

I don't understand how it cost so much, looks cheap tbh. I've been in the old one and it didn't have these issues.

Since 'The Ralph' was built, the learned their fans jump through tables, so it's natural that the team decided they had to protect the fans from themselves.

The Billdoes have no one else to blame but themselves.

The Big Dig was better than this.

The Big Dig is marvelous. I couldn't imagine what Boston would be like without it.

Lots of money vanished, but what do you expect, everyone in Boston is on the take.

Everyone paying tolls on the Mass Pike is paying down the money the grifters stole.

They get to play on grass there. Dunno why we can't at Gillette.

The Krafts stood on their heads trying to make natural grass work as a field for Gillette. They took everything from drainage to under field heating into account . Thought of everything but the field's exposure to sunlight when it shifts in fall. Grass needs sun, who knew?
The 2006 Mud Bowl loss to the Jete was the final straw, the grass was gone and turf installed before the next home game.

In that clip I posted of Josh Allen running out of the tunnel I said the video board looked small. Can it even be read from the opposite site?

Orchard Park NY is in a really bad spot for snow and wind. They really should have built it as an indoor stadium or with a retractable roof

Kinda amazing that after all of the *****ing here about the major updates to the video boards at Gillette, those big screens are now a point of pride for us.

I love taunting them about how their scoreboards are state of the art - circa 2002.

They are in such denial. "I go to the game to watch the game on the field!! No on an oversized television!!"

Yeah? You don't like watching replays of touchdowns or close calls on the video board?

It wasn't $2.2 billion, and we didn't have to pay for it.

And even if they were frustrated with it, it was such an upgrade over Sullivan Stadium that it didn't really matter.

Paved parking lots and toilets that worked were more than enough to win us over.

Hmm, maybe that wasn't mud in the parking lot ?!?

People must be feeling really good about the view from their Fenway seats today.

As someone who lives in Buffalo, my facebook feed is filled with complaints. It's not being hyped up, the complaints are real.

The solution is not to seat people there.

There are plenty of stadiums with areas carved out without seating for these reasons. Sounds like they are trying to squeeze chairs in.

I was never a fan of them not building a domed stadium in downtown Buffalo. That is absolutely what they should have done, and it would have been worth the money, since in the last few years they have poured money into the city for Boondoggles ($750m to Tesla for a failed solar plant that employs no one).

There is a misconception about the taxpayer money being borne by NYS. All the money they used for the stadium came from the casino proceeds from the Seneca Indians, and studies have shown that 95% of that is local money. So this is really not a state taxpayer issue, but rather a local issue. The NFL provided a loan for 1/3rd of the money and Pegula paid the other third.

The seats are just like the old Edward Jones dome that was in St Louis. That venue was a piece of crap if I ever saw one. When you really think about it, the Jets/Giants stadium is a dump too.

Lowmark Stadium.

One of the complaints I am hearing is the dishonesty of the sales representatives. While the obstructed views are indeed a small number of seats, people who bought PSLs used the "virtual seating" software to see the view. Some people were told "oh, that railing won't be in your way in the actual stadium" which turned out to be a lie.

I didn't know the Tesla plant was a failure, but since I hadn't heard a thing about it, I should have presumed it was yet another exercise in socializing losses and capitalizing profits that was buried in the news. Heads corporations win, tails corporations win. Not rigged, though, that's how coins are supposed to be made. How dare you think any different, that's Anti-American!

As for the stadium, any idiot could look at the first 'toilet bowl' rendering and immediately understand that the claim that 70% of fans would be sheltered from rain was nothing more than prairie paddies laid out for the Beefalo fans to chew on. An actual closed roof? Nah, that's too good for us, we'll shiver in the Cold Rain and Snow while the Pagulas cash in.

Completely agree about having a retractable domed stadium in Buffalo (and for that matter also NE). The whole we are tough we love playing in 4 feet of snow and 5 degree weather is just so over and done with. People pay good money and want to see the players at their best not sliding around and making snow angels while getting frost bite. Also the whole throwing snowballs at opposing players is 1000% juvenile and ******ed.
Much better experience for the fan to sit in 72 degrees and not have to get blanketed with snow

Buffalo absolutely deserves a domed stadium.

Criminy. You want Roller Derby, not football.

The game is MEANT to be played outdoors, in the elements, with Mother Nature having a say in strategy, tactics, toughness and testing of wills. Screw the homogenization/sanitization of playing indoors. Nothing could be worse than a league of indoor pass-happy basketball-in-cleats nonsense where everything looks the same, everyone plays the same way and genuine home-field advantage is a thing of the past.
