Bad break for the Jets. Wouldn’t shock me if they try to bring in Duane Brown though. Which interestingly enough would probably be an upgrade for them.

I knew he was a high draft pick, but I would be lying if I said I remembered terribly much about Becton off the top of my head.... so I confess I had to research the following....

After starting 13 games his rookie season, he suffered a knee injury last year and only played 1 game. Now another knee injury is knocking him out before the season even begins, so that is a 2 year stretch where he played 1 single game. Not what you want from #11 overall and a very tough break. Without knowing the details, I have to think 2 consecutive season ending knee injuries does not bode well for the young man's long term future.

Two wins right there yesss!

There’s a lot behind the scenes that doesn’t look good for his future, either. He was given a 1-2 month projected recovery last year mid-September but never played again because he got so out of shape during his recovery, allegedly up to 400 pounds.

Big guy's luck is all bad. I hope he has a full recovery.
He could provide a big assist to future good luck, though, by doing whatever he can to be in the best shape that he can possibly be in. Do what the doctors and trainers prescribe.

If you're inactive for a while and then all if a sudden get lots of exercise...well that's great but the problem is the ligaments haven't had time to get stronger and then this sort of thing happens...regardless of previous injury or not.

Worse pick than NKeal Harry.

No, at least injuries can explain why Becton has not worked out.

Harry was a terrible fit from the get go and did not look like a pro ready Wr.

At least with picks like Bethel Johnson, Chad Jackson and Aaron Dobson, you could see the tremendous upside if the athleticism worked out, Harry ran routes like his feet were in cement.

He's been battling something or other since high school. Been hovering around 400 for a half decade now. Borderline dominant run blocker with a ton of potential but hasn't put it together.

What a tackle class though. I had it Thomas, Willis, Becton, Wirfs. All 1st RD grades. Happy with that but man I feel empty with the Becton news. After Thomas he probably had the most potential.

OTOH, Becton was the 11th overall pick. The odds of getting a great player at #11 are much better than at #32.

11th pick. Will play in 2 wins in 3 years.

It's not all bad. Messy Bacon might be out for the year, but the Jete collective IQ just went up 10 points.

Not good. His knees can’t carry 400lbs. Best to try drop to 330 or so and see if he can continue his career.

I agree, but so far it's been injuries holding Becton back which are impossible to predict.

I don't like labeling players a bust due to injuries.

Malcolm Mitchell was a great pick by BB despite him playing only 1 season due to his knee injury
