ANOTHER JAG GOES TO IR
Posted by Mike Florio on September 10, 2008, 3:01 p.m. EDT
The Jacksonville Jaguars are, in the words of our friend Emmitt Smith, getting debacled.

With center Brad Meester out for several more weeks and starting guard Vince Manuwai placed on injured reserve earlier this week, starting guard Mo Williams has been placed on IR on Wednesday.

Manuwai and Williams were injured against the Titans in Week One.

Coach Jack Del Rio did his best on Wednesday to appeal to fans to buy tickets and support the team. “We absolutely need our crowd to give us a homefield advantage,” Del Rio said, “that crowd noise and difficulty of operating on the road. We need it.”

The game has not yet been sold out; thus, a local blackout is still possible for Sunday’s game against the Bills, where temperatures are expected to be in the 90s.

The AFC South might go from the most competitive division (or at least second behind the NFC East) to another version of the NFC West (where no one seems to want to win the division) due to injuries. I am considering moving Tennessee to my favorite to win the South with all the injuries to the Jags and Colts.

First their passing game was shot down due to WR injuries, and now their run game is shot down as well due to OL injuries.

Looks like Jax will have to rely on their D to win games.

Well that just sucks. Just waiting for a couple of Steelers to go on IR, then we can pretty much officially say that every AFC contender has been nailed by injuries (though the Pats far worse than the others).

Earth to Rogahh- revisit that extended season idea... another one bites the dust. Yikes.

Wow, the entire interior line out -- that's tough.

Is it just Brady-colored-classes, or does the league seem unusually decimated for early September?

I think your right....this year shall be interesting as many teams have lost key players....

It will now actually come down to pure talent of the players and their coaches to prove their worth on the field....
