On Michael Onwenu: don't be surprised if Mike Vrabel Trades him on Draft day. They like Layden Robinson: David Andrews is coming back so they can move Cole Strange back to his regular LG Spot. Don't forget to resurrect this when it happens.

You loved him last year at this time, you said he was their RT, of the future.

The Deebo's worth a Fourth Rounder people are coming out the woodworks.

That’s because Deebo is definitely worth a 4th round pick. I would give them Atlanta’s 3rd, which is a little pricey, but would free them up to focus elsewhere in free agency and the Draft. But there is the thing PF2, I will stand by what I said, instead of saying the opposite of it 6 months from now.

Last year's top 4 at WR was:

X Boutte
Z/Slot Bourne (year 1 back from injury)
Slot Douglas
Z/Slot Polk

If we traded for Deebo it would be:

X Boutte
Z/Slot Deebo
Slot Douglas
Z/Slot Bourne (year 2 back from injury)

Deebo and Bourne in year 2 back from injury figures to be waaaaaay better than Polk and Bourne in year 1 back from injury. You'd still like to see an X better than Boutte but options don't look great outside of Higgins who seems like he'll be tough to land. Polk and Baker can develop behind the scenes as WR5 and WR6.

For probably a 5th (and maybe some change?) and spending $17.5M of cap on a 1 year deal, it's not the worst solution. I don't like the FA options outside of Higgins and I don't want to use #4 on a WR based on who's in the draft. Expecting an under the radar FA or day 2-3 pick to be an immediate starter is tough. They're not going to "solve" every position this year so some spots will only have band aids rather than open heart surgery like they need. I'm ok if WR ends up one of those spots but I imagine most fans will riot because it's been a need for so long.

Any Fan who wants to Trade a 3rd for this Deebo Samuel have lost all credibility in my book.

Speaking of credibility, here’s what you said about Duggar, who you also blasted Wolf for re-signing him. Another example where you liked the player when Wolf re-signed him, but are now pretending you always hated him.

  1. Patriots Host QB Will Levis as Part of Their Top 30 Visits

Dugger -Uche and Barmore stopped the Patriots Second Round bleeding a little it's still not pretty. I don't like your Second Round take the BB Pats have done Historically well in the Fourth Round compared to the Second round and that's a Fact!

I guess if we are splitting hairs, I'd want some help on the salary if I am giving up a 4th.
Agree. Hes on the books for $17m next year. 49ers need to pay some of that.

Last three years hes averaged 50 catches and almost 800yds while missing 15% of the games. Thats Kendrick Bourne in 2021.

I'd consider converting the option into a guarantee + playing & performance incentives to take him to ~15m AAV for 3 years. Maybe it's more if he gets to 1000yds.

Maye needs professional receivers. There aren't many on the market and is younger can Kupp.

You're going to burn a top-100 draft pick for a one-year rental, instead of a 26 year old who will be here for 4 years, only costs you money, oh, and is actually better?

Ok.

Yep. I would rather do that than to pay Tee Higgins over 30 million a season, And imo it frees them up to make other moves in free agency and the draft. If he plays well then they can always try to re-sign him.

I'd be pretty surprised if they did that because they have more cap space than they probably know what to do with already and he's their best OL right now whether he's a RG or a RT (and that's a sad reflection of our OL that he's our best RT). There's simply no need to trade him considering the lack of financial need, our lack of talent on the OL and his positional versatility still.

Yeah, Boutte/Deebo/Pop in JMD’s offense would be a solid place to be. Plus as you said, Bourne further along in his recovery as the 4th guy. There’s no good X upgrades out there besides Higgins. I would be okay flipping a day 3 pick for Deebo and otherwise worrying about the O and D lines first and foremost, both in free agency and the draft. Kupp falls in the same bucket

I thought I did nobody Wanted to come here. That's why we pathetically overpaid for our Own FA's. Dugger -Michael OnFatwu among others.

You liked Duggar and Onwenu, and you waned JaLynn Polk, and I have shown the quotes backing all three of those takes, you are just willing to lie about it now and pretend you were against them.

Off to ignore you go PF2. I’m not going to waste me time talking to someone who lies about the positions they have taken in the past, even when they are shown their own quotes. Adios.

Cry two tears in a bucket Huck: you'll be dearly missed attention whore.

I agree, a 5th might be too high. A 6th for Samuel and a 7th sounds more market-value-y.
Late round flier is his max. He will be cut if they can't work out a trade and either way he won't be getting paid what he is set to make.

posters are posting like the decision on players signing is the Pats to make.
there will be competition for all the WR's on the market. slight over pay in trade compensation is to be expected, or perhaps, substantial over pay in free agency dollars is to be expected, if the Pats are going to secure WR help outside of the draft.
we saw a willingness to do that last year with Aiyuk, and he still refused.
rather a question of what do you believe Deebo to be worth on the open market, the question needs to be what will it take to get Deebo in New England? surely, two different answers. Ditto Kupp. Ditto Metcalf. Ditto Higgins.

Third Rounder?? You're a little too generous I'm hoping they're leaning towards a 5th. The 49ers have shown their hands: which takes away their advantage. I think a 4th is even too rich for Deebo right now. He has some concerning baggage.
Yep.. a 5th or 4th probably does it for shanny.. I think an offseason with Deebo, kupp and Carter or graham is excellent for us to start if we can..

The only way patriots have any control of the situation is if they are willing to offer up draft compensation.. is why that 3rd rounder is even more important now that was obtained from judon. If Deebo or kupp hit the open market then all bets are off.

The more I think about it the more I think the Patriots should wait a few weeks then give SF a take it or leave it offer of Atlanta’s 3rd for Deebo. Tell them the offer goes away once free agency opens up. The fact that Deebo’s contract expires after the season makes it even more enticing, as it gives them an out and a nice chunk of cap space if they don’t want to renew him. And if they do they can work something out.
You joking right. No way will you want to give a 3rd for Samuels when 49ers are looking to offload his contract. He will get cut.

Niners would be filing the paperwork before he even finishes his "take it or leave it" speech.

there is no contract to off load. SF is on the hook regardless, and his new team is assuming peanuts.

Patriots tried to trade for Deebo last offseason.. I don't know what the trade compensation was but reports were SF and NE couldn't agree on the compensation. So hopefully they explore it again and actually make it happen. At this point the Patriots need talent anyway they can get it so this team can get back to playing contending football. Deebo would be good step towards that.

This is what gets HC's and GM's fired. That was the most important draft to keep the dynasty alive, but it was completely botched. 2017 was the first strike, 2018 was borderline strike two, but 2019 was the nail in the coffin. Aside from Harry, Williams was completely unnecessary in the 2nd round when the team was 4-5 players deep at CB. I liked Harris as a player, but he was another pointless pick as we needed "now" players.
Agreed to have busted on Duke Dawson Cyrus Jones, N'Keal Harry and Joeaun Williams from 2017-2019 drafts... also the two TEs in the 2020 draft is why the roster is where it is as we all know. Also add in Jordan Richard's as well. We need some ty Warren's, Jarvis greens, David Givens, Deon branch level players as not every player drafted has all pro abilities. I'd be happy with starting level players from the draft.

At first I was against it but I think it you could get him for a 4th or lower, you do it. Or maybe he gets cut? Either way, I agree with the sentiment that we need talent, even if its older, broken toys, he could be a real asset to the WR room and still be a decent weapon for Drake and Josh
