1st Cooks (2 years)
2nd Ealey ( 1 year); actually this only cost a move down of a few roster spots
4th Allen (3 years)
5th Gillislie (2 years)

I don't expect these players to take lots of time to develop. They are not like rookies. They should have reps early in the season.

Of course, we have the "normal" six picks to go.

Tonight, we should be able to an EDGE player at 72 (e.g. Williams, Basham, Anderson) and a guard at 96 (e.g. Magnuson, Siragusa, Asiata)

Watching how the first round played out, I'm already so very fine with the Patriots' approach to this draft.

Yeah have it on in the background too. Jeez. A tall receiver named Mike Williams with a super-bright future in the NFL... I KNOW I've seen this show before.

Wrote it in the draft board but will repeat it here.

At least one of Basham, Bowser, Baker, Awuzie, Tabor, Shaheen or Kittle please.

Realistically, I think Ryan Anderson will be picked with 72 or 96 depending on how they see his draft range. I wouldn't be surprised if they use some of the minor 2018 draft resources to maneuver a bit to make sure they get the player they want.

Two things I have taken from this draft.

Peppers is going to struggle unless the browns work out what's best for him, do they have the knowledge to get the best out him? If so where are they going to play him?

I think we missed out on a top ten talent in foster..

Injury concerns bundled together with some character questions. There is a reason why he was drafted so late and would have been Easley-light.

Watching the draft with no picks is slightly uncomfortable, as every guy picked has such star power(in their opinion and all are perfect fits for their teams) .. was not impressed with the rest of the AFC East.. if you listen to them every team is doing such a great job.

If you shop early you can get your Patriots Draft Day hat and probably a t-shirt.. all of this is NFL crass commercialism at its best.. ;);)

The day 1 winners and losers are already out, while I wait with "baited breath" for the final draft grades on Sunday.. that will be their Superbowl Sunday.

he went 31..Pats would have still missed out at pick 32

In a world where we don't trade for Cooks and pick at 32, who would we get? A pass rusher?

Something that happens just about every year:

Mel Kiper's draft Grades : New England Patriots C+

7 or 8 months later:

"Mel Kiper has upgraded the Patriots draft grade to an A-"

What a great name. "Mama, that bad guy sacked me. I have an awuzie."

Your post needs to be told in the voice of that movie trailer guy.

"In a world.....where we don't trade....for cooks.....and pick at 32!!!!!

Who would we get????"

Coming never to a theater near you.

I watched season 2 of Better Call Saul while keeping an eye on the draft on-line to get ready for tonight as Belichick picks his mark, takes his watch and tells him what time it is.

Yeah. On draft day every offensive player is some kind of unholy fusion of Tom Brady and Randy Moss that can throw and catch the ball by himself. And every defensive player is a Revis-JJ Watts love child...

Then after a few years you wake up and realize you have Malcolm Brown, Cyrus Jones, Dominique Easley(well okay technically the Rams have him now), and whatever that 2nd round Safety BB reached for that sucks.

Which is why BB kept JG and traded his picks for proven NFL players.

I wouldn't be too upset if we double dipped and went D-lineman with both picks in the third round.

honestly the Pats are dominating so far

total tease. I was like "Crap they've been burning up the phone lines! What I miss?"
I was hoping for something, but not for any football on the field reason, I just don't like it when all the NFL talk is not about the Pats!
