On to the Browns!

Kitchens was the popular choice as HC in Cleveland. The media loved him and his back story. Williams, while probably the better choice on paper, had a sour disposition, according to the media, and it was played up that several key players were working behind the scenes to keep him from being named HC. To truly gauge the power the sports media in Cleveland has on personnel decisions, just remember the hatchet job they did on Bellichick, who coached the last Browns team with a winning record.
While I don’t disagree with your analysis, just want to point out the 2007 Browns went 10-6 under Romeo Crennel.

Thanks, forgot about Romeo's good season. He was also, to some extent, a victim of the Cleveland media. Actually, the reason he failed with the Browns, IMHO, was that he was too lenient with his players. Never let the inmates run the asylum.

The Browns have one of the best set of receivers in the AFC, as well as one of the best running backs.
Compared to our guys, Chubb's 5.3 yds/carry and Landry's 17.6 yds/recep are envious. Someone forgot to tell Mayfield the TD/INT ratio should be >1.

A poster said the CLE OL is absolute trash. Idk, but if true then Chubb >> Michel.
Having the GOAT is a blessing.

They are better in run than pass blocking.

Yea, I hope they kept Eric The Giant around to follow and block the hell out of Myles.

It was embarrassing to watch those missed wham blocks last week. He has another chance to show he's better then that.

Perhaps it would be more understandable if Gordon were healthy, and was cut in order to bring in Sanu as an upgrade. Gordon was replaced. And it only message board posters who think the we need 6 WR's plus Slater plus Gunner.

LeCosse is a case where we need a TE (this year and next) and LeCosse and Izzo are both being giving a chance. IMO, it makes no sense to cut LeCosse. Even if we brought in a TE, I would cut Izzo rather than LeCosse.
What are you talking about? Team had:
JE, AB, JG, PD, JM, GO, MS
it could be:
JE, MS, JG (inactive), PD, JM, GO, MS

Sanu for AB. Once Harry returns, you could make a decision then is all some of us are saying. Also, you don't have to release Izzo, just send him to PS (no one will claim him - guaranteed).

But obviously there was something else going on other than a replacement.

The media out here in NE Ohio are downplaying expectations coming into this game. Coming into this season, hopes were really high in Cleveland. Local media was hyping the team to, at minimum, have a winning season and make the playoffs; stretch goal, the Super Bowl. All hopes came crashing down with a big loss in the first game. Years of terrible teams have taken a toll on a football-crazy city. This game is being touted as a measuring stick for the rest of the season, and the Browns are taking it very seriously.
From what I remember, Browns always played Patriots tough.

The Puppies and Kittens come to town for an ugly massacre. Below an excerpt from a Browns forum...

Cleveland Browns: 5 Bold Predictions vs. Patriots

Running back Nick Chubb has without a doubt been the Browns best player on offense this year, but Odell Beckham Jr. is probably the most talented. New England do have the cornerback playing the best right now,Stephen Gilmore. So the Beckham problem may be solved like that.

On defense Cleveland will have to stop the run and put pressure on Tom Brady. The Patriots offense has not been great but the game won’t turn into a shootout because of their defense.

Coming off of a bye week the Browns should be healthy for the most part and a win could completely turn their season around.

5. Nick Chubb will Show a Flaw in Patriots Defense
4. Myles Garrett will Sack Tom Brady Twice
3. Cleveland will Hold New England Under 21 Points
2. Baker Mayfield Will be Seeing Ghosts
1. Freddie Kitchens Will get Schooled, But in a Good Way

League leader in throwing interceptions meets defense with twice as many interceptions received as anyone else. It won't be pretty.
...Mayflies needs to play a conservative game and take what the NEP gives him.

The problem is his Lake Erie-sized ego won't allow for it

The record for most interceptions in a game is 9, which happened once in 1943 and once in 1965. Maybe tomorrow will be a record breaking day.

Yes, I was waiting for more argument.

I like Michel a lot, but Chubb is a better RB than he is. And, yes, this is demonstrated by his success on a team with a terrible OL and a terrible QB.

Chubb is clearly better than Sony.

Debate over.

Over the last 3 weeks, CLE has surrendered 618 yards on the ground (of course QBs Jackson & Wilson contributed to that number). Obviously, we haven’t been as productive on the ground due to various factors, but something’s gotta give. Hopefully, we are able to impose our will; or at the very least, get players like Sanu, Edelman, Dorsett etc involved with some jet sweeps, screens etc.
