On to Denver

"They hate their coach."

...is something you'd never hear about certain organizations.

You shouldn't hear about it again as Jackson is still on the unemployment line.

Some words from Chatham on the Denver game..

Now combine that with this

Losing rookie Janovich was another big setback. Forsett showed some sparks last week but with OL troubles (and esp if Paradis can't go) their running game looks a lot like Pats last year.

Sanders and Thomas are doing wonders but turnovers seem to be the only chance for the Broncos.
And as Chatham nicely points out .. no run=weaker pass protection=more mistakes by QB.
Considering this (and ignoring the punt return issues) Pats should be in a better situation also in TO department despite Mile High.

Is there an advantage on defense to playing away games because the crowd is quiet? That is, are there defensive audibles that you can call in away games, that you cannot take advantage of with home games because of the crowd? And maybe could this be a boost with our blitzing schemes?

But also aren't there rules about when/what defensive players are allowed to say during the snap count? But what is the scope of this restriction? I.e., can a defensive back yell stuff out to his buddy like "Hey go over there!" Or does the defense have to be quiet during the snap? I know you can't mimic the snap count and stuff, to confuse the offense....

Im more worried that for some weird reason that Forsett ends looking like the next coming...god I hate denver week.

Some nice insight from the other side ..

On to Denver - Broncos report: Denver offensive line is “an insult to NFL football”

As I mentioned before they were very happy with backup LB Zaire Anderson last game. But he's no Marshall.

Got a bunch of snow last night here in Denver, roads sucks. Currently -1 where I live, 20's and sunny for the game though.

A couple of quotes from Dussault's Gameplan. Extended runs on the outside were the killers last year, mostly on C Jones's side IIRC. There's no CJ Anderson or Hillman this time but Siemian's roll outs and extended plays were quite productive last games. Lets see how Logan does setting the edge. Another chance for the popular comparison of Jones and Logan.

Patriots Gameplan: Week 15 at Denver Broncos

Quotes:

As Belichick pointed out this week, the Denver offense is what it is .. There are no surprises, it’s just about execution. That all starts with the zone running game that has long been Gary Kubiak’s staple. After playing just one snap last week (the safety), rookie linebacker Elandon Roberts could find himself in a prominent role this week. Roberts is quick to get downhill, just what is needed to blow up the zone running game. If not Roberts, Shea McClellin will have his toughest task of the season since he moved to more of a linebacker role.

DE Discipline: Aside from the zone runs, the play action and QB roll out plays are a huge staple of the Broncos offense. This will require the defensive ends to stay aware at all times and not crash down trying to stop the run, thus leaving themselves open to get exploited. The defense as a whole must play smart and athletically in this one. If they do that, Denver should have a hard time moving the ball.

Man Im pumped for this one

Can't wait too our guys in fist fight when its -10 out. This is a big character, what type of team do you game imo.

On defense I want to see Malcolm Brown continue his great play of late. I got so excited when Howe was giving out draft spoilers and I knew we were getting him. The kid came from Texas which was craziness during his era (Mack Brown was leaving for a while but they couldn't get their guy, Miles and the program was and is still in flux) His ability to turn his speed into power is what teams coveted and we're seeing that now.

From ^^^
Aside from the safety, Brown has collected two sacks, three quarterback hits and five pressures, forced an intentional grounding penalty, forced a fumble, stuffed three runs and drawn a holding penalty. Since Brown only registered one quarterback hit and pressure in his first four games, he has made 15 disruptive plays in the last nine outings.

He'll have plenty of opportunities tomorrow knowing what type of fight hes in for.

Some pressure up the middle could easily ruin Siemians day considering our guys should be playing contain for the bootleg.

Also excited to see Roberts and Ryan. This is a perfect game for both. Roberts is all instincts and toughness. We're gunna need that explosion through trash to get to the ball carrier.

Ive always liked Ryan. Hes a guy who will always have trouble with certain guys and conversely have great success against others. Thomas is a guy Ryan has had success against. Just a good match up for Ryan as he get physical with the bigger wr who makes his $ on yac. Thomas is basically a softer T.O.

I think our 3 backs will all play a big role at some time. White only had 5 catches I believe but 12 missed him a few times as well last year. Ive been huge critic of Blount but the guy is just having a year. Our line deserves a ton of credit though. Both are working in concert with each other and its beautiful to watch.
My favorite run is the off tackle to Solders side with Devilin crashing into defenders (or whiffing lol, i kid) It allows Blount some room if the play goes as designed. It puts Blount in the best position for a big gain imho.

I actually think Lewis and White will be more important early on at least. The Broncos LB core is a lil banged up and none of their guys want to see Lewis or White in space. Marshall is out which is a big deal. Hes a glue guy for them put also a very good football player. Devonte Freeman and Tevin Coleman out of the backfield together, and it resulted in a 23-16 road win for the Falcons. Both had a combined 119 rushing yards and 167 receiving yards on the day taking advantage of their linebackers. And again Marshall is out.

However it plays out I don't expect more than 35-37 passes. In the AFCCG last season, the Broncos officially hit Brady 17 times – seven by DeMarcus Ware alone. Von Miller had 2.5 of the team’s four sacks. Brady threw two picks and he only produced 310 yards from his 56 pass attempts. In the last five games against the Broncos, Tom Brady has averaged 47.8 attempts per game (50, 38, 53, 42, 56). I just dont think thats a recipe for success against the Broncos. At least not in the traditionally drop back sense.

I'm also expecting 2-3 big plays from Bennett and Mitchell. The Broncos have to respect 11 and Hogan. I'm expecting Talib and Harris to get the bulk of those duties. Those 2 guys will be our best advantage in terms of non-backs. Even the Broncos only have so many great defenders.

Our returners better be ready whoever they are. Kayvon Webster and Cody Latimer are two very good gunners will no doubt bring the heat.

GO PATS!!!!

I just want tommy to have a good game tomorrow win or lose. Run the football plz!!!!!!
