I posted this over on the Planet but I thought it would stir discussion here too.

I want to put things into some Perspective, if I may, contrasting this pre-season with the last four.

On Defense:
We are debating the merits of the 4th, 5th and 6th CB.
We are debating the merits of the 5th and 6th S.
We are debating the merits of the 5th and 6th LB.
We are debating the merits of the 3rd and 4th DT.
We are debating the merits of the 5th, 6th and 7th DE.
On Offense:
We are debating the merits of the 5th and 6th TE.
We are debating the merits of the 5th and 6th WR.
We are debating the merits of the 5th and 6th RB.
We are debating the merits of the 3rd QB.

Do you detect a pattern? All the starting and first reserve positions have little questions. What questions there were have already been answered this off-season. The additions of talented newcomers have solved the open problems, with players such as Tom Kelly, Jamie Collins, Logan Ryan, Ras-I Dowling, Zack Sudfeld, Adrian Wilson, Danny Armendola, Kenbrew Thompkins, Aaron Dobson, Josh Boyce, and possibly Armon Armstead/Marcus Forsten/Pork Chop Grissom.

The only real question is first reserve DT, and the talent may be there, but it is less certain than elsewhere, because it is untested.

Unlike the annual post 2009 Total Rebuilding, there are no longer glaring holes begging for NFL starter quality players to fill them. There are no longer lack of depth at first reserve, positions, prompting crossed fingers and hopes for continual health. We are no longer debating starting positions.

This all adds up to a most significant conclusion: NFL BEWARE!

Indeed. The fact that some are stressing out about the backups on this team is a VERY good thing. Much better than, say, worrying about the starters.

While I am happy with the performance of the starters last night, I'm going to tap the brakes just a little bit.

While it is true that we are debating who will be reserves rather than starters, I still would like to see consistency (i.e., more than one game) in certain areas - specifically the pass rush, pass coverage, and even on the offensive line.

Next week's game at Detroit will tell us a bit more. Remember last time the Pats played them in preseason two years ago, after the Pats had looked good in their first two games; I couldn't wait for the Pats to pull Brady, I thought he was going to get killed out there.

A good use of Tebow's last game?

I would agree with you except:
We have 7 sacks in two games.
Projection 56/season --League leader

We have 388 rushing yards in two games
Projection 194 yards/game and --League leader
Offensive line playing reserve OT at RG established those stats

Sacks yielded is N.A. as Tebow incompetence has the majority of them and distorts that stat.

I've seen enough.
