Even though it was hardly funny at the time I couldn’t help but lol at Wynn dropping his head in shame on the false start that last drive... which he somehow got away with.

I believe in Wynn... at LEFT GUARD.

Play durable, superbowl-winning LT Trent Brown at left tackle. and top-10 NFL right tackle Michael Onwenu at .... right tackle.

THIS IS CRAZY !! The coaches still involved in this idiocy need to be fired. Fire Bricillo, Fire McDaniels.

I love thinking through franchise owner decisions as I do this daily anyways in my job.

1. Thuney was worth keeping.
2. Gilmore is worth keeping happy.
3. Agholor and 1 of the tight ends was an overpay, but they had a lot of cap space. Again would have spent this on Gilmore and Thuney instead. Also would have gone out and gotten a great big fat nose tackle elite at run defense.
3. 2 expensive tight ends is only worth it if you know how to use 2 TE's on the field. This OC clearly does not. The past game only had 12 personnel (2 TE's) 24% of the plays, we were in spread shotgun 60% of the snaps which is the only thing this oc has known how to do going back to 15 yrs ago when he learned the only things he knows from Urban Meyer (learned zero else, no TE play and no Oline play still after 15 years).
4. At what point does the Einstein quote about idiocy repeating the same mistake over again, apply ??
This OLine DOES NOT WORK. Continuity is a BS excuse given they keep rotating Herron/Durant every 12 minutes.

Play: Trent Brown - Wynn - Andrews- Mason - Onwenu.
i thought about that as well. I understand the argument of continuity completely and it's a perfect scenario if you have this because guys are know each other and work better on stunts/blitzes and combos. But if continuity means we block poor as in right now (i admit we have faced good lines/defenses so far as ice ice brady mentioned) then we i think maybe a different line up would block better. especially if you have a solid Backup with Karras knowing the system

Continuity makes zero sense if they literally swap the RT after 10 minutes of play, 4 weeks in a row!!!!

Last year they threw around Onwenu, Thuney played freaking center.

FIRE BRICILLO, trick Popovich into getting vaccinated. Scar isn't coming back. FIRE Bricillo and bring back Popovich, while also firing the oc (sorry can't help it)

This shows that none of them convinced the coaches so far to be a full starter rn

i believe this was due to injuries but can't remember. Also the O-Line depth wasn't that good with only JE, herron and ferentz as back ups.

it doesn't bother me

I keep seeing talk of moving Onwenu to RT but he is struggling at guard and ended up getting benched last night. Wynn looks to be struggling badly as well. I don't know if Thuney was hiding some of Wynn's flaws but Wynn has been pretty bad against the pass and the run.

So Onwenu was a top10 RT next to Mason, KEEP THAT. Maybe Wynn is a fraud. Then start Trent Brown who won a freaking superbowl as Pats Lt, at left tackle. This isn't even hard. It's only hard for idiots. Start Trent Brown at LT, start Onwenu at RT.

.

A big issue is depth has been painfully thin on the line for several years and it always feels like they are one injury or one guy being out a week from being stout to being a mess.

That would be worth a try definitely if Wynn continues to struggle. I’m fairly certain he did well at lt in years past, the issue was just durability. But this year he’s sucked for whatever reason. Could be worth testing your lineup out.

I wouldn't mind giving him a go at tackle but his feet are so slow at times it might be a nightmare against speed rushers. He's had his issues at G this year even though he's our best OL'm.

I've heard this before. Maybe by the same idiot OP but how exactly do people think Thuney hid Wynn's flaws? I'm just curious bc it doesn't make sense to me?

In any case Wynn has been bad. And it doesn't look like it's getting better until Brown shows up.

Maybe communication? Or adjustments in protection on the fly? To be honest I have no real idea about offensive line play. I know Wynn is undersized for a tackle and while he was never a superstar he looked much better than this when Thuney was here. Then again so did all the other linemen so who knows?

i think this could be an explanation. Communication, thuney's experience and football IQ of blitzes stunts to pick up. But Onwenu did play some LG last year as well didn't he? If so i thought they looked good together last year..i think thuney did not hide wynn's flaws. It's the whole group underperforming. It starts with a vet like Andrews

Yea I get what you're saying and appreciate the answer. Too many people just say stuff here lol. But nah Thuney wasn't hiding anything for Wynn. Wynn has just sucked this year.

I've noticed him skidish on certain plays. Not really exploding into his sets but keeping an eye on the inside. He'll leave his drag hand behind. Noticed he's not as good vs power. Nothing glaring but he's been bad.

I don't like it being so true and accurate but the OLine is a mess and it's beyond insane they haven't changed it up by now.

The other three were different iterations of the Detroit Lions (2007, 2006 and 1994)."
This is something that's been bugging me. Why does this decades running putrid team get ranked ahead of so many teams every year? Something doesn't add up.

Anyway, back to the OL. Ugh is all I have to say.

Here’s Wynn doing a passable imitation of a small speed bump.

Why did Joe Tryon have to add a third name? Players with 3 names doesn’t sound good.

What an embarrassing moment for Wynn.

Unless we start running the ball...we may as well mail in the season. \we have, we can, i know we will.

Priority #1 - the Oline. They showed flashes on that 2nd TD drive. A bit better communication and having TB back will help.

Consistent O-Line play throughout these upcoming games will have us competitive this year...
