OL coaching

Buffalo is a REALLY GOOD TEAM, but we're better than what we've shown.
Cut out the Penalties and TO'S, and where do you think we are? Ok, everyone has TO'S...cut them in HALF...what do you think?

We're going to WIN this game!
I said it, smash me later, I'm good with that...at least I tried to be an honest fan.
Guys, I say some controversial ****, but no matter what, I AM PATRIOTS ALL DAY EVERY DAY!

Not sure how long Marrone will stick around the Pats as his success will make him a valued commodity, perhaps to make sure he is retained enhance his title with the position of "Ass't HC"..
There is great value to having three former HC's leading this team.. although Marrone and Josh have had limited success as HC's, they know the big picture and what works.

I do think coaching and scheme are much bigger factors in OL play than many give credit to.
getting the ball out quickly. pace of play. rolling pockets. throwing on the run. QB with mobility. continuity. health.

Our best guy in the OL the past several years, Big Mike Onwenu, is a good guy. Food addiction issues.

But no fire in the belly. No leadership. He is being paid too much and never acted the leader when it was desperately needed.

It's just who he is.

So the FA acquisition of a fiery, proven leader in Morgan Moses and a strong, tough, smart, and nasty rookie Will Campbell really resets the table.

Even if we still had a previous coaching staff in charge.

The culture is 100 % better with the new guys. And Jared Wilson is a great leader, too.

Pats had another Big B, PF. Brian Holloway was a pretty big and very talented Big B.

Yeah, another favorite when I've rewatched games from before I was old enough to really get into it. I watched Patriots games with my mom in the '80s, but I didn't start getting truly hooked until the '90s.

I think Marrone is a great line coach, said that in the offseason. Where more pushback was received here was when I said the free agent vets they brought in, Bradbury, Moses, were very good signings.

Especially contentious was Bradbury, particularly when I suggested it was Viking’s coach Kevin O’Connell’s scheme more than the player. They signed Pro Bowler Ryan Kelly so it was going to improve greatly for them… right?

Through four weeks the Vikings have attempted the 27th fewest passes in the entire NFL. Despite that they lead the entire NFL in sacks allowed and sack percentage. What happened? I was told Bradbury just stunk and they wouldn’t have replaced him with an All Pro if he was any good.

Football is a team sport, a unit can look bad for a multitude of reasons beyond “talent.” This isn’t a computer simulation.

Mike Onwenu dropped from 370 pounds in college to 350 before the NFL draft. He has never shown up over that weight since.

Him supposedly being “fat” was the overactive imaginations of the local negative nancy media members who forgot how big he was from one season to the next. They did a similar thing to players in the past like Trent Brown.

There is nobody who can guess weight by eyesight… so media members should stop trying… or at least stop trying to garner clicks.

I agree, if they play mistake free they can beat the Bills. Their defense isn’t great.

if no one can guess a players weight, how do you know Onwenu has never shown up over 350 lbs?
speak out of both sides of your mouth much, Wozzwald?

Vikings OL issues are likely from missing Christian Darrisaw.

No worries like McDaniels a HCing ship has sailed.

Players take physicals, do conditioning tests, the team logs their weight. Pretty simple.

Last year when media told us Onwenu was way overweight, he ended up playing the most offensive snaps on the season… so it was clearly bullsht.

Considering you once told me Tom Brady looked like he put on weight and looked around 250 pounds… I’d suggest you sit this one out. You defend the media no matter how dumb it sounds.

I agree. Trying to tell if an OL that normally weighs 350 is +- 10-20 pounds isn’t going to work. What we did see is a player playing well below his capabilities and pay grade, and in the case of Trent Brown one year sucking air in between snaps. Whether it was weight, poor nutrition, or lack of conditioning that caused that doesn’t really matter.

They’ve been one of the worst pass protection teams in the NFL since Kevin O’Connell took over… with Darrisaw. It’s scheme, he leaves his QB’s guard exposed to hits.

PFF player grades are garbage, and a great player on a bad unit is hard to distinguish from the bad ones.

The media can’t guess weight from a glance… that’s absurd.

what I told you about Brady was that someone who is 6'5" and muscular in the upper body could not weigh Brady's listed weight of 215.
I said he looked 240-250 lbs

I didn’t cite PFF and would be the last person to do so.

His listed weight was 225, like it always was after 2000. You said you saw him (photos) and he looked 250-260 pounds… it was the most silly thing I’ve ever heard.
