Not worth it. Moving along.
I think the question you really need to ask yourself is "do I think they will do this?" (what Kontradiction illustrated)

He can't really help himself.
Sorry, but I got over the "sitting and hoping" number for a long time. You guys should try it sometime and you won't be so disappointed.

The way things have been moving on a personnel front, yes... I honestly do. The offense has been transforming before our eyes for the past year and a half. The last step would be drafting a mauler interior O-Lineman and bringing in a FB and a RB. They have the draft picks and the money to make all of that happen.

You'd hate Steven Jackson if he were on the Pats. The guy is constantly injured and is soft for as big as he is.

I feel like part of the reason he gets injured so much is the amount of touches he gets running behind a bad line.

Obviously, if they drafted a mauling lineman, FB and RB, it would probably happen.

But the way the Pats draft, we don't have a damn clue what's going to happen.

In addition, they've had a ton of money in the past and they haven't spent it.

We've had "signs of this happening" before and we've been disappointed.

And I still haven't seen them commit to the ground game. One play in particular was BJGE on Monday night, he gained six yards on 1st and 10.

Brady went into shotgun and throw two incomplete passes.

Punt.

I think it's possible, given the personnel they already have at TE, the resources they have in the draft, and the comments made by Belichick in the offseason where he felt the league was shifting back to a more run focused league. Agree or disagree with his assessment, it doesn't sound like a guy who would purposely avoid moving to a more balanced offense.

I accept disappointment as a natural part of sports. 31 teams every year end their season in disappointment. Expecting it to happen doesn't make it better, IMO. Also, preparing for disappointment is one thing... making up statements like "the Pats don't think logically" is mind boggling. Apparently, only your vision for team movement is logical, and any move made to contrary is just them pulling crap out of a hat?

That's why I said that I didn't see any of this occurring this year. We don't have a fullback and we have a JAG running back in BJGE. I can understand why they put the second and third downs in the hands of the GOAT quarterback to convert.

If we were to indeed incorporate a true FB into our offense next season, would BB draft one? Or would he sign a stud like LeRon McClain? I'd prefer the latter, but I would like to know what people think would most likely happen so I don't get my hopes up.

Trading a 3rd and a 5th for Burgess was mind boggling.

I could go on and on but don't feel like it.

A FB takes plays away from one of our great TEs and WRs.

Edelman, Gronk, Crumpler, Hernandez, Welker, Price, Tate

That's 7 players for 4 slots.

Add a FB, and now you have 8 players for 4 slots.

I don't see it or like it.

If getting a mauling offensive lineman in the draft is a priority, why don't they sign Mankins and save themselves a draft pick?

I understand what your saying but they'd save money and they could gain an extra draft pick.

It helps spread the money around.

In addition, not too many of us have missed Mankins as I predicted.

Guards are replaceable.

No. I see the team using their highest picks to reload the trenches on the O-Line and take either a DE or OLB on the defense. However, I'm almost always wrong on how we use our picks, so...

If they don't trade down, this is the rare year where there isn't a top O-Line prospect that will go in the top 10. I really think there is a good chance of Ingram, it makes a lot of sense. Now, if BJGE turns into a stud runner, then maybe not. But I don't see it, and I think this draft will be more on the offense. O-line will be addressed, but in late 1/2nd round.

That is actually what I am agreeing with. I would love to see a new center and OG.

Our 8 picks in the first 4 rounds will get turned into 1 pick in the 1st, 2 in the 2nd, 5 in the 3rd, 5 in the 4th, 1 in the 5th, 4 in the 6th, and 2 in the 7th and 400 in future drafts.

.

Exactly when was this? They've had less than 2% of the cap open every year while the cap was around. They spend more money on players than any other team in the NFL.

I'm not disappointed at all. In fact, I'm rather content. Maybe you should try not being miserable for a day; maybe then you'd be easier to tolerate.

I agree with you 100%! Brady is not a good deep thrower, IMO. Too much air under the ball, too much windup on the deep bombs. 2 TE sets which confuse the defense are best.

i most strongly agree with your final point. i dont know why everyone is so pissed off right now. this is a pretty exciting time for the Patriots right now. Lots of youth, potential, and hope for the future. its remarkable that BB has been able to completely gut the team and stay in contention.
