This team doesn't have D talent come on.

We don't beat the Bengals on the road and should have beaten the Seahawks if not for a dumb sack with D level talent.

This team is pretty close. We don't know what we have at receivers because Brissett doesn't look beyond 10 yards. Geno for example was throwing it to his guys even though defenders were right draped all over them. At least he gives them a chance with a catchable ball or possible PI. Brissett has to throw it up and give his guys a chance.
Should have said offense talent

Yeah I didn’t like that call either. Didn’t see it, was it a full yard? I knew when it went to OT it was gonna be hard. We just don’t have any playmakers on offense, none. It’s completely nonexistent in terms of chunk plays. Really hard to win in that scenario. Probably looking at 4 or 5 wins again. I wanna see what Drake can do
You are right…..we just don’t have any elite WR weapons right now which is a killer…..No one can stretch the field or separate consistently….same song and dance as last year and year before that and year before that!

Ball at the 20 yard line of the opponent late in the game, run the ball, and kick a FG to go up 6.

Force Seattle to drive the field for a TD

That's not good situational football

Bottom line is Pats do not have the talent to win most games they play.
Effort A+
Talent D
Coaching A- given the talent

The Pats have a LOT of talent. Particularly on D.

Your grades are ridiculous.

The ISSUE is at the TACKLES. An issue that many, including myself, had issue with going back to the DRAFT. I stated then that the Pats SHOULD have traded out and gotten Minny's 2 picks and a player. Pats could have solidified BOTH LT and RT,. A solid to above average line makes the whole offense better.

The WRs were open today early on. Brissett or AVP ignored them outside of the 1 play to Polk.

The coaching was bad.
The Offensive play calls were all over the place and established no rhythm except for the TD by Stevenson.
The HC screwed the pooch by declining the 1 penalty.

We all know it. Brissett is who he is. He doesn't see a lot of the field.
WR's are completely invisible. Hard to tell yet if it's because JB can't see them, or they're that bad.

The 3rd & 2 pass in OT was the stupidest decision. After running the last 1.5 quarters as the only chance at gaining a yard, why didn't you just Jumbo that for another 1st??

I'm ready for Maye. JB is supposed to be the steady vet who won't make mistakes. If we're going to see the kinds of mistakes Brissett is making and endure the fact that he never looks at a WR then let's have Maye. He's going to make mistakes too but at least he'll put some life into the offense.
Yep.

This I agree with. I think he gives them a better chance of pushing the ball down field. Big plays. Maybe a throw goes for a pick six. But at least your watching a rookie grow/make mistakes. Not a vet QB making rookie mistakes.

That said, too early to consider pulling the plug on J.B. It's week 2 and Jets is a winnable game. If he performs like this the next few weeks...a conversation definitely needs to be had.

Not disappointed because they lost to a better team and gave great effort.

Hope they give Maye more time to learn.
They are going nowhere this year

Everything should be to prepare for future

183 yards rushing though. The run game might be legit so that’s something…

I would like to see Mayes 1st team practice reps go from 30% to 100%.

To further compound the blunder, Robinson gets beat instantaneously, and boom we lose

I half jokingly said it at the time, but with the benefit of hindsight I would have had Drake in at QB for overtime.

Jacoby wasn't moving it a yard out there, and Seattle would have been completed caught off guard having to defend a guy that can easily run for the first down.

Drake gets experience, he doesn't get killed as its only a couple drives, we likely get the win, everyone goes home happy.

Looked like TT out there today.. Speaking of our “One Catch Wonder” - 2 games played and 2 passes caught…
Can't catch a ball that isn't thrown to you despite being open.

Blaming him for the OTs and QB is ridiculous.....

Jacoby blew it, nothing else to say. Chip shot field goal had a good chance of winning the game. Instead he takes an idiotic sack and they not only miss the field goal but also give Seattle a short field with which to go get their own field goal to tie it and go to OT.

I definitely think they need to go to Maye. As others have said by now, if your "mentor" is making mistakes that the rookie would be making, what's the point of playing him?

I'm sure that they will not turn to Maye on a short week against the Jets (game in 4 days from now), but with a mini-bye after that, could happen. SF is a tough first start, but they'd have 10 days to get him ready to go.
As hard as the team is playing now, there is a point of diminishing returns where the team just turns it off, as long as the better QB option remains on the bench.

I think a tuned out team is also going to be more injury prone.

We saw Jacoby hadn't been killed playing behind that OLine. We all know he is not the answer. We need Maye to see what we can do offensively. So far wide receivers have been only a background.
