I don't believe Zappe is the future but I also don't think he's had a fair shake here in New England. Mac is done here.
I think the only sensible thing to do here is play Zappe for the rest of the season and see if he is anything. At most if he shows some capability you keep him as a backup.
Also honestly bill continuing to trot Mac out as long as he has is a disservice to him too. He should have sat a bit after it was obvious he was broken to see if they could have fixed him
