The fact that Onwenu was active today but didn’t play tells me he’s probably getting traded. And if he’s getting traded, they’re selling, so they’re probably trading a few guys. And if they’re selling, what does that mean for the franchise long term? Does Bill get the best value knowing he may not be here to use the picks? Is Bill even able to decide who gets traded? What if he wants to trade someone like Bourne but Kraft likes Bourne? Lots of questions.

Four tops. Five is too high.
Washinton is a 70/30 game. Colts might be 50/50.

Then Broncos and Giants should be Raiders like games that we SHOULD win but we have to get out of our own way.

Also could see the Jets end of year being a meaningless win like 2020.

So there are 5 games that we might be able to take left. But I'm not sure I want to lol.

The fact Mac stepped into that throw and had something on it helped it avoid being picked off, he got enough on it for it to be completed, and this is the first game in probably four weeks (maybe five) where I saw him step into a couple of throws and get something on them.

Yup. Agreed. One of Mac's throws to Bourne had stuff on it. Mac was average today, but that is much improved over the last two weeks. Let's hope Mac shines for the next two weeks and Mark Davis gives us a 1st for him

Serious question, does anybody actually want Belichick being the guy to make decisions on roster management at the trade deadline?

so on the line today, we have Trent "I'll play when I feel like it" Brown, rookie mafi in his second start, Andrews (solid), rookie Sow (playing a diff position) instead of Onwenu, and a last-minute acquisition who's barely played. At full strength we'd be decent enough, but this is truly a nightmare scenario.

Would entirely depend on who is at the top of the draft. If the top 3 teams need QB's. You can't trade past them.

Other problem is, if you do get lucky and one of the teams in the top 2 or 3 doesn't need one, you are going to have to lose a lot of capital in a draft that you should be flush with picks in to move up a couple spots
It seems to be a virtual lock that one of the top three picks will be Chicago which is probably not ready to give up on Fields despite his struggles this year.

With the current O line, Mac, or whoever is back there, better have good catastrophic medical insurance. Parker and Smith-Schuster are useless. Time to roll with the rookies and try to trade vets for draft choices.

This is a weird game on which to comment. Basically, there's nothing to say. It was what it was, and the Patriots are what they are.

On Mac, if this were a good team, Mac would likely be good enough. But this isn't a good team, so Mac isn't good enough. Huh? That doesn't seem fair! Then we're on to the life isn't fair, bunboy: get outta here with your participation trophy stuff. Around and around. All we can say with certainty is that Mac isn't good enough to keep us out of that particular squirrel cage. It's all more sad than anything.

Like every other subpar QB with great receivers and an OL. Competent but not good enough to compete against the elite QBs.
Undoubtedly, you can't pass on Williams/Drake with a top pick.

Do you think the Patriots would have the capital to move up to 2 if Chicago has the worst record? If Sanders declares, and NE is at 3, you could just draft him.

Hopefully, keep him healthy so we can move him. Uche should be traded as well, unfortunately gotta figure his value is much less now than it was before the season started, hes been invisible.

Dugger i honestly Dont know, he could be part of the long term plan. But id lean towards sell if the compensation is good.

Bourne id only keep if you feel confident you can move parker and jjss. Their contracts make it tough to move them without considerable dead cap. If you are forced to keep those 2 and bring back bourne, it severely limits your options to change the wr landscape. Id trade him .

Oh I think they give up on Fields. He's awful and in the same spot as Mac where they need to make a decision on extending him. He's also someone they could trade like Mac to a decent team that needs a QB to try to sneak into the playoffs in some sort of desperation play.

Imo the Bears, Broncos, Giants, Titans, Vikings, and Cardinals would all heavily consider drafting QB's if there was a really good one where they were. And a few games rolling the right way could put any of them ahead of us in the draft.

Sanders will not declare. Did you see his NIL income?

Giants winning today and getting them behind us in the draft ranking woild
Be huge for our chance to land Maye.

This should be a 0-6 team. We barely won a Jets team still mourning the loss of Aaron Rodgers and agonizing with Zack Wilson at QB.

They now are a much better team winning games and carrying some momentum, their coaching staff was able to turn this around, like our wasn't.

The theory that just roster is talented to win some 7 games or around that is absolutely ludicrous at this point.

My confidence has absolutely dropped when it comes to Jones, and I'm over it. At the same time, I'm realistic enough to know that we need someone who can at least be competitive and do what happened in 2021. Three years in, I've seen enough to know that he's got a ceiling and "it is what it is."

The only thing I'll say is this. The Jets built up their offensive line and Zach Wilson beat the Eagles today largely thanks to the personnel they brought in to help out Rodgers. That's a reminder of just how bad things are here right now, and it's certainly disturbing that Wilson is that productive with more talent.

The thing is the Jets won despite Zach Wilson today. The only thing he had today is not have his typical turnovers and he did that. Not anything more than that though. He was downright mediocre. But that is what happens when you have a running game and an awesome defense.
