I'll say this again in summary.. 31 points is more than enough for an NFL offense to score and win..

35 points is far to much for an NFL defense to give up and realistically except to win..

Our DEFENSE and STs was the problem...

I just hope that Bo Nix isnt brady and the pats and Maye is not the manning and the colts , considering the trend of the games and attention which both have gotten this yr. Its been eerily similar.
There's is a consensus here that Bo Nix sucks and he'll never be anything. Again I'm not part of that group I liked Bo Nix pre draft: he's been very clutch to the dismay of the naysayers.

I don't think if Allen was down 21 to either Denver or Houston: he could lead them back against those Defenses.
Denver let Washington walk right down the field on the in a game tying drive and again in OT and gave up 32 to the giants.

There is not a large difference between what their defense has done and what ours has year to date.

Avg points allowed is 19.7 for us to 18.6 for them
Median points allowed is 20 for us 18 for them.

5 worst game we allowed 129 they allowed 137

We have allowed 21 or less 10 times they have allowed 21 or less 8 times.
Biggest difference is they had lowest allowed games of 3,7,11,12
We had 13,13,13,14. Those games are 17 points total difference. They have allowed a total of 15 less than us all year.

I’m not worried that we are the same but in the games we held our opponents to 14 or less they allowed 4 ppg less. Winning by more doesn’t count extra.

I think it was an excellent QB class even JJ McCarthy is looking good. Caleb is having a nice year too.

As long as he's playing a defense missing 2 of its best players and has no pass rush.. he will continue to look unstoppable if that's the case..
It’s what he does he is streaky. Not sure why you seem hurt by that fact.

Lot of people overlooking the fact this was Mayes first game with a lot riding on the line. Yeah he didn’t play a good game in terms of throwing the ball, maybe the high stakes got to him a bit, he’ll need to use this as a learning experience and get better, which he’s shown the ability to learn from and improve.
We've seen Drake elevate.. the week 5 game if they lost go to 2-3.. season probably would have gone differently at point.. he's shown tremendous growth this season..

Not saying your wrong.. but a team as that makes it easier for him just helps his cause... I'm not hurt by the least.. sorry to upset you..

Two of their top five best defensive players, really. I’d put Milton at #1, probably Barmore at #2. Gonzo has not really been himself but he still slots in at #3, and then Spillane would end up being the fourth guy. Fifth is probably a tie between Landry and Jones.

So realistically, they were missing those two guys and Landry was also banged up, and it seemed like Jones was also dealing with something based on his gait.

Hopefully the Jets and Dolphins will be playing for draft position in the final two weeks, allowing the offense to put them away early and letting Vrabel give these guys a little rest in the second halves.
What is the QB rating when the ball is thrown to Gonzo's man? What is the completion percentage? How often do they even throw to Gonzo's man?

That ^ best post in this entire thread.

As pats fan and a new pats and football fan it used to drive me nuts in the early 2000s when brady didnt get his due inspite of winning 3 SBs and being clutch .It was always about manning because of the wow throws and offenses.

Gonzo post game made mention of something interesting in his comments..he mentioned how he loves to play man.. said it emphasizing it..

Wonder if we see more of it? Soft zone in the red area is a runway into the endzone..

Oh I remember: it drove noodle arm Game manager QB Brady to become the GOAT.

Sure 31 points should be enough to win. Sure, the Defense and ST's were awful in the second half. Personally, I think that the Defense in the first half was amazingly good given who was on the field. They couldn't hold on after BUF made adjustments. We even had to play Woods for a few plays.
==================
HOWEVER, sometimes, an Offense is in a high scoring game where they PRAY to have the ball last with almost 2 minutes to go.

In the playoffs, that is what a team sometimes needs, no matter what happened earlier in the game. A high-level QB and a high-level Offense scores the TD and tries not to leave time on the clock for the other team. In the old days, we would have EXPECTED our team to score leaving no time left, not wanting to give Allen the ball again. If the roles were reversed and BUF were 4 points behind, their fans would have expected their team to win the game. Ditto for the LAR.

You seem to be the epitome of a Pats footie pajama. I don't memorize other people's posts as folks do to me....Maye has been great this season. But he sucked yesterday. You can't put lipstick on a pig. I believe it was his worst QB rating of the season....in the biggest game of the season. He wasn't good. He has another chance against a team fighting for its life in 6 days. If he plays like **** again, will you (and all the other footie pajamas) be jumping down the throat of folks who dare criticize Maye? Or will you and others take off the Krafty Bob colored glasses and think, hmmm, maybe Maye isn't the next Brady?
A Pats footie pajama?? Are you saying they are comfy...weird. You are right that Maye was bad in the 2nd half and has shown that he does not yet have "clutchness". Maye was never going to be another Brady.

He had a worse QBR against the Raiders, Atlanta and Tampa. I get the outrage but I also realize that Maye is still relatively inexperienced, 2 years a starter in college and 13 last year. Nix and Williams both have 5 4th qtr comebacks this year, but I would still rather have Maye despite him showing that he is not "clutch" yet. I feel pretty good about him becoming clutch at some point.

Edit: Sorry it is his worst passer rating of the year, what is passer rating and QBR?

Because Brady was a Finished product after Bledsoe got injured. Some of you are kind of sad: If you'll think the Texans and Broncos are not similar to some of those early Patriots Teams: you'll are being hypocrites. Great Defense game manager QB: that's what Brady was before he became Tom Brady. I think C.J. Stroud and Bo Nix can play game manager on Offense and rely on their Defenses. Both can be clutch when they have to be and have little playoff experience too.
I don’t think the Nix/early Brady comparisons are completely unjust. I don’t think Nix will ever ascend to near prime Brady level, but early Brady was very similar to current Nix, despite what some of our fans want to believe.
That said, Nix is not beating Allen in the playoffs, just can’t see it.
Again, despite what some of our members think (Old running QB, past his window), Allen is the best QB on the planet.

Agreed here.. you know all and all.. to really give me some perspective the fact that we have this to talk about is even great.. we are having a Great discussion on the forum on an 11 win team..

As opposed to last few seasons talking about draft on a 4 win team...
