I cannot find the current number of years in the contract he signed. If it's just one, then you're correct - if not the Krafts can't just "stop" paying him. Like Patricia they're on the hook for his salary...so it's not just a mediocrity decision - it's can they improve on that mediocrity with someone else AND while still paying.

There's a reason the Krafts are worth as much as they are, and making rash business decisions like that one probably isn't on they'll do willy nilly either. They set the precedent when Carroll was here - three straight years of declining records is when the conversation likely begins in earnest.
BBs contract info isn’t public, but I doubt at his age the Krafts would be signing long term deals. Probably should be doing what BB did to Brady - Year to year.

But it wasn't the main problem. Which is what I said.

The shortage of lifeboats wasn't the main problem with the Titanic. It was the iceberg.

But still.

Where is hunter Henry?
Ok, smith isn’t great but hunter should be a stud

Mac does not have the physical ability(weak arm) to make up for poor decision making. He's regressed this year.
I thought Mac really floated that almost pic to Parker in the EZ. His ball looks like it lost some zip from last year

Yeah, I remember a few years ago when McVay took the Rams to the Super Bowl. They had one of the top 10 offenses in NFL history. It was amazing.

Then they scored 3 points in the Super Bowl.

McVay was lucky to play the complete mess of an org in the Cincy Bengals last year.

And really, the Rams looked like crud in that game, and Stafford was no great shakes either.
Maybe, but the Rams are 38-20 (.655) overall and 5-1 in the playoffs (w/ SB win) since that 2018 SB. Pats are 30-24 (.555) overall and 0-2 in the playoffs.

They must be doing something right. Maybe it's that they have an actual OC & DC. Maybe it's that the team has top end talent on both sides of the ball.

I know that as a fan it's easy to live off past performances, but in 2022, Bob Kraft wants to know: what have you done for me lately?

Do you think BB would keep himself if he was making the decision as the team owner?
He would say: it's better to get rid of him one year too early than one year too late.

We know what Bob is thinking. He wants to win a playoff game this year.

That seems increasingly unlikely.
The last time they went three years w/o a playoff win was 2008-2010. They've never gone four years w/o a playoff win. This would be a first under BB.

Hey, Bill could’ve had him. Interviewed him, liked him. He was there.

Too early to give up on Mac.

Otoh, fat Matt can go . . . himself.
Yup. Seriously imagine how much better we'd be right now if BB had drafted Lamar Jackson instead of Sony Michel. Not giving up on Mac yet since we don't have any better options, but those injuries early in the season aren't helping him any in year 2. This OL is not protecting him as well as we'd like. Yup playcalling was bad, turnovers were bad, offense just couldn't keep up in the critical moments.

I'm glad your prediction came true. Give yourself a pat on the back.
Well the loss was predictable given how we've played in the preseason and the first two weeks. I was not pleased that we gave up 37 points or that we turned the ball over so often though. Our defense was the only unit giving us a fighting chance in the early part of the season. Not looking forward to facing the Packers next week! 1-3 looks even more likely after the 1-2 start now.

A close loss to the Ravens might have given some indication of hope and some things to build on. Instead it feels more like, let's tear it down and start all over because whatever 'this' is, just is not working.

One Super Bowl.

BFD

Bruce Arians, Gary Kubiak and Doug Pederson say hi.

It entirely depends on perception and expectations. I think most reasonable takes would have said that talent wise we took a step back after the draft and free agency and lost more than we gained and that the coaching situation was already questionable. So this was about as expected.
Agree, yet anyone that pointed this out was labeled a troll or Bucs fan by the homers. Turns out Beddard was right all along.

I mean allowing 188 rushing yards and 5-5 in the red zone isn't great.
If they aren’t forcing punts they aren’t forcing fgs often.

Let's also look at how badly you have to suck and for how long to accumulate all that top end talent:

In the 10 years before their SB win, the Rams picked at these spots in the 1st round 2: 1st, 14th, 14th, 8th, 2nd, 13th, 10th, 1st. They picked at the top of the 1st round every year. You better accumulate a lot of talent if you're going to pick that high from all the losing.

I hope the Patriots never have that happen to them.

He was backpedaling and threw that ball while falling backward off his back heels.

I'll say this again since it needs to be repeated: Mac's decisions are bad. To say he's losing zip when he decides to throw off his back heel while back pedaling is besides the point.

On this very thread I've read we need a coach from the Shanahan coaching tree (what about Shanahan has impressed you this evening? And has he been able to coach up Trey Lance properly?); also read we should've traded for Garoppolo (what is it about tonight that tells you that?). So much of this stuff reminds me of the replace Brady, he's cooked! shouts in this board in 2019. Then we got Cam Newton. Last year it was more than one guy ranting about getting rid of McDaniels. So now Patricia stepped in. You guys remind me of Chelsea FC fans who always want everyone replaced (sorry for the soccer reference).

Unless the team completely craters or Bill loses the locker room he will be our HC next year. After that all bets are off. I still don’t buy Bill changing his mind about coaching into his 70s. I think Kraft already knows when it’s time.

I think it’s quite a bit better than even odds we have a new HC to kick off 2024. And it won’t be Steve or Patricia or Judge. They will have their choice of plenty of candidates from around the league and we should get a good one.
If BB stays, and odds are he will, he at the very least needs to get over his own arrogance and hire a REAL OC. This Matty P as 'offensive assistant' or whatever BS title he's using is not panning out at all!!
