I feel horrible for Meyers - he's one of the best Patriots. And Rham played great for naught.
Mac was clearly missing throws, and after supporting and hoping for him for 2 years, I'm officially changing my tune on him.

I think people here overestimate where we should be.'

This team "should be" 8-6.

They are building to something better.

The idea that they should be better than that? It strikes me as a stretch.

And I agree Matt Patricia is a problem and that Mac Jones isn't the answer, and even given that, they should still be 8-6, even thought the O-line is a shambles, etc.

Look, we could be the 4-9 LA Rams.

We're overestimating where this team should be given where and how it's currently constructed.

Before last season, I definitely thought this would be the result for a bit. However, what's confounding is the fact that last year looked better, things clicked quite a bit more. And even with that being said, there are some wild mistakes being made this year. It's befuddling.

However, I do think expectations should always be considered. Worthwhile point.

I cannot be the only one who, after 20 years of dominance and 6 SB's, said we are playing with house money as fans. Nothing else matters.

They are putting it to the test though.

I was seriously upset after the Miami bullshyt when Gronk attempted to play defense. But that was a high stakes game. And that loss did allow us to lose HFA and then beat the Chiefs in KC. So in the end, it was worth it.

But this one doesn't even upset me. Maybe I just don't see this team as a playoff team anyway. Or maybe I really am content after a 20 year run no other fans have ever seen.

Maybe I'm just filled with Christmas spirit (and some alcohol).

Before this season start, I was thinking we would be an 8-9 team. I have a long standing track record of being hypercritical of Bill to the point I have received warnings from our admins. I watch a ton of nfl football and I was actually coming around to the idea that we were playoff bound this year and heading for 9-8, 10-7. I have been somewhat impressed lately watching the Pats grind out wins. I think Bill has done a stellar job on the defensive end as is usual. This team is slightly above average this year but extremely solid and competitive as always under BB. We won’t go into the offense which is a bit challenged to put it mildly. That was simply a boneheaded play by Jakobi. Like once in a lifetime level screwup. You cannot blame Mac for that either. You trying tackling freight train chandler jones. Anyway, we’re back on the 8-9 trajectory. Not horrendous, but certainly in the slightly above average range. Where we go from here is anyone’s guess. We are spoiled fans after two decades of total dominance.

Why throw it back to Mac of all people?

Check Stevenson for a concussion.

I feel horrible for Meyers - he's one of the best Patriots.

Hard to post when people like you talk nonsense.

I asked, what do you want them to say prior to that play?

You answer: score more points in the game.

If you don't understand why your post is nonsense, there's no helping you.
Appreciate the immature reply! Rock on with Mac and the steamrolling offense!

no the coaches ONCE Again called a safe "lets not lose the game" and ended up losing the game.
I will say this much: Belichick has gotten much more conservative in terms of "going for it." And this has been going on for about a decade.

If Meyers really just completely went rogue and did that... the old Bill Belichick cuts him. Meyers ain't good enough to endure that mistake. And frankly it's an indictment on this team that Meyers might survive it because he might be the best WR on the team. That's how many levels the ineptitude goes.

First the players were stupid. Second the coaches did a piss poor job of coaching situational awareness or at least making sure the players understood it. Third he might not be held accountable because he might be too important a player on this piss poor team.

Can we fire Patricia yet? I don't care what the players say. He was clapping on the sidelines when Stevenson threw that lateral.

That might be the dumbest play call of all time. and if the players went rogue. That's also on Patricia and Bill for not coaching the situation. You are in a TIE game with 4 seconds left. Go to OT!

Ok I’ll play

Mac grabs Chandler Jones face mask with 1 hand and vice grips his balls with the other and brings him down

Then gets a 15 yard penalty and raiders kick FG to win, Mac is a dumb piece of **** for not knowing better than to commit a penalty there

Hopefully I’m wrong but I predict that this will be the new norm on this board, even if Mac moves on and they inevitably cut Zappe, any QB we have will forever have factions blaming them when we’re losing

Brady leaving and this team being journeymen now is a disaster for an angry and miserable Boston fanbase

We basically have a bunch of Felgers on this board now and they’ll never go away because we’ll never have another dynasty like we did with Brady
You just pretty much summed it up. we knew once TB left things would be rough, especially with the group that only knows winning.

Credit where credit's due, Cam IS one of the few QBs who I think is capable of possibly tackling a sprinting Chandler Jones (as long as he's not high and naked.)

You can't blame Mac for not tackling Jones. Not only is Chandler Jones bigger, but Mac probably wasn't even ready after his WTF reaction

I will say this much: Belichick has gotten much more conservative in terms of "going for it." And this has been going on for about a decade.
Bill's always been on the conservative side on that regards. The problem wasn't playing for OT. At that point you should. But the problem is the offense has dumb players that do that.

If this is truly Meyers trying to be a hero, then he should be benched the rest of the season, franchised taged and shipped off to the lowest bidder, what an idiot , he possible cost the team a trip to the playoffs! This team is making stupid plays which are so un like anything I have seen from them for so long., From being on the top of the mountain, we are now on the bottom, what a fall !!!!
I knew we would have some sort of re built, but I really thought we would be in the middle of the pack, not all the way at the bottom !!!!!
