OK let me try to make my point this way.

What was the difference between 2001 Brady, 2007 Brady and 2016 Brady?

Obviously, Brady got better with more experience and retooling his body. But that is not what I am saying. I am talking about a weakness that is glaring and exploitable to the point that you can throw Jones completely off his game if you exploit it well enough. He has one. But we don't know what it is yet.

BTW, talking about 2001 Brady. I am confident now I would take probably take 2021 Jones over 2001 Brady to be the QB of the Pats today. I do tend to doubt that I will take any version of Jones over 2007 or 2016 Brady, but I hope I am wrong.

Ok a specific weakness. I think it's still not being able to decipher and diagnose complex, exotic coverages he hasn't seen yet but I understand your point.

I would need to think about that one. It has merit.

I did watch it. But Rex at least gets it. His arm strength or lack there of is overrated because he as intangibles that makes him special. He even said that Jones has great anticipation and throws the ball before the receiver is open or "throws the receiver open".
I liked Rex's comment where he said that no NOT "any" QB can throw those screens... he gets it for sure.

Anybody else have an extra spring in their step today?

Harry doing good work as a blocker:

This is good. So Harry and 6th lineman for blocking and Bolden for screens. The elephant in the room is Jonnu (who is a really talented guy) has no role here, made no sense to sign him and have no plays for him here, and the $12/yr looks real bad. But the cap penalty to trade him is large.

It’s taken them a while to get Bourne started, too, but he’s been coming on strong. There’s still plenty of the season for Smith to find his role, too. The money is already spent, so maybe let that go until the off-season, when it’s time to think about how to reallocate the money?

Dugger really showed a lot. He's making the leap as a pass defender. What's his ideal long term spot? Strong safety ? Both Dugger and Philips are good, want to keep both on the field. Can either of them potentially replace DMac later or do they have to find a FS replacement.

Just finished watching the game , a great all round performance.

Sure that's fair. Obviously want to make use of him since we can't move him. Right now he basically blocks (not his strength) and goes on pass routes only 30% of his snaps. And his ideal plays like screens are being used by Bolden who is good at these .

With this oc they should have signed a great-blocking TE2 not a YAC, weak-blocking TE2 and relegate him to mostly blocking.

Weren’t they using him for the reverses (which now seem to be going to Bourne)? I think his injuries are hurting him in finding his fit, too.

Harry doing good work as a blocker:

Harry was putting in some serious effort all game. I saw one point where he had some Browns players trying to fight him and he was just walking off. He seems to piss guys off for whatever reason... Watching his effort blocking is pretty awesome. Harry has also made a few really nice catches in recent weeks, albeit mostly from Hoyer. Wonder if he'll pop more later in the year...
