I feel for Mills. You can tell he's giving it 100% and by all accounts is the kinda guy who wants to be coached hard and playing hard all the way. He's just getting victimized by some really great throws and even better catches.

Doesn't matter. Like Ellis Hobbs. I don't want another lost couple years like 2005-2008 when they let Law go, went with Smurf CBs and Asante wasn't truly elite. Now they let Gilmore go, JC isn't an elite CB1 and Mills is bad. PatsD simply does not work without multiple excellent man-press cover corners. This D shines in man cover-1. The defense sucks when it plays zone.

Ellis Hobbs was that guy who had good position on guys, but for whatever reason found a way to mess up and allow big catches. He had a weird habit of falling down.

This defense shows flashes but it definitely has weak links in Bentley, Mills, and Godchaux. Can't be a Superbowl team with these 3 guys. On the other hand Barmore, Judon, Philips are all quality defensive players one can build around. I also like JC just not convinced he's a CB1. Really liked him as a CB2 and wish we kept Gilmore and gave him the $.

Gilmore didnt really want to play under the current pay. his pup was a soft holdout. He wouldnt have played today if he was on the pats.. no way pats were paying a new contract to a 31 yr CB.

It wouldn't have cost 15m. He missed a quarter of the season so if they threw around 5m on top of his 7m I think he's still here. But the org made some BS spin they had to trade Gilmore to sign Collins. Um, no. Could have signed Collins doing a half dozen other things that involved keeping Gilmore.

He's going to play against us next week. No reports of a new contract, so pressumably he's going to play for Carolina for the same money that he wouldn't play for in NE.

Was at the game today...seated in the 300 section (about mid level, big stadium with a 500 section) on the corner of the EZ-ish.

Was able to see what Mac was seeing downfield and it wasn't much. He was throwing the ball into tight windows and had 2-3 throws I thought that could have been picked off. Also, though Agholor could have laid out and caught one of those deep throws, but he lost track of the ball...

Did not like us going away from the rushing offense inside the red zone.

Defensively, it was a good day...but the same "first-drive" woes....the 2nd drive was just a missed tackle on Justin Jackson basically.....and the last drive..goving up a dumb TD like that...but I am nitpicking now. Good day overall, just clean up some
of it!

Olszewski should win us a game sometime this season, IMO. He's been close to breaking loose.... and Folk is goddamn clutch....

Good team win. I think on that last charger drive we could have done better defending. We allowed them to easily march down the field and score. This is not something we can afford to do.
The defense came up big today. We were able to generate pressure easily.
Judon is the man on that defense, if he keeps this up he is def going to the pro bowl.

The o-line did have few costly penalties that cancelled few big gains.

Mac can easily be the best QB of this draft because nobody to right now is playing as well as him.

Lastly what’s with Mac Jones shirt every game? It’s always bloody on the same spot lol/

Henry is definitely the better tight end. He has been solid and he is going to keep getting better and better with Jones.
Jonnu on the other hand I’m not impressed with him.

There were some red flags on Barmore coming out. Though he supposedly overcame them and showed himself to be a huge team player and a fantastic learner..
I’m guessing he is a slow learner?

Mac could have been hurt there. Incredible that this didn’t draw a flag

I was incensed after this play. I think every kid trick or treating in the ‘hood stayed away after my reaction to this play.

So he was healthy and continued the “hold-in” after going to Carolina? I doubt it. Why would he poison his relationship with his new team if it was a contract dispute with the Patriots?
A lot of teams hold a player out the first game with the new team.

Much to chagrin of the anti-Belichick losers on here (and that includes the ‘BeLiCHick iS a GoOd CoACh bUt a bAD GM’ morons), this Patriots team is a very good team that can beat any team on any field on any Sunday. Now will that necessarily result in a playoff birth? I think and hope so, but of course that can’t be guaranteed. Regardless, the future of this team is very, very bright.

I don't know about "very good". They are currently 500. and improving but they aren't at the "very good" mark yet. Let's hope they get there soon.

This kid, PJ Walker, next week (Panthers' Darnold will be most likely be out on the concussion protocol) is very untested and is only 5'10, 180 lbs. The defense should feast on him in a matchup of 4-4 teams.
If McCaffrey is back this might be a "take away the run" alignment game coming up. They were light most of the day yesterday - a lot of two DL alignments with some three thrown in.
