The next 5 linemen through 71 are the ineligible receivers playing an unbalanced line. 81 covers the end of the line. Everything is legal.
However, if the refs announce 71 as the eligible receiver, the Pats think the 5 ineligible linemen start at 73. In BB's mind, not only is 73 ineligible, but the Bills were in an illegal formation since 73 wasn't covered by an eligible receiver.
I don't blame BB for being upset.

Chris

He’s struggling for sure, and has really been banged up a lot this year. The question is whether not a couple of weeks of rest will get him into decent enough shape, which hopefully will be the case.Chung is the Eedlman of the D (health-wise). My son always jokes that he seems assisted off the field twice per game by the medical staff.

Yes the defender has to allow a receiver to run his route.Edelman ran right into him. Is the defender supposed to step out of his way to let him run his route?
Not sure why you continue to argue:

Julian Edelman explains his head injury evaluation after OPI penalty in Patriots win over Bills
I might be wrong, but I think his post was directed at Ashley in a positive way, like agreeing with you that she does a good job moderating and wondering how she’s even able to be able to watch the game having to do all the moderating duties. Not sure though I guess. As a matter of fact I did watch the game. What is your point?
Does constantly *****ing help anyone?
From watching the “trip clip”, It actually looks like Tom reflexively grabs Oliver’s leg to help himself get off the ground- he instantly lets go.... that’s a stretch to call it a intended trip. Buffalo fans whining as usual.haha.. bills fans crying for a flag on brady trying to trip oliver when in fact oliver was pinning brady down
I could be wrong on this, but I think there is also an on-field system of refs pointing out eligible and ineligible reports to the D so the loudspeaker announcement isn't the final authority on this. Nonetheless, I suspect the announcements have morphed into defacto standards the D and coaching staff rely on, so getting them correct is still key.The annoying thing is that there is no way to remedy this even if the mistake becomes apparent during the game. You can't challenge the refs giving out wrong information.
The league should really consider making the declaration of elgibility/inelgibility a bit more obvious so miscommunication doesn't cause a cluster**** like that.
To “avoid” him Edelman would have had to alter his route which would look totally unnatural and any contact would appropriately be called opi. The only way to avoid opi is to run a legitimate route and not veer out of it, which is exactly what Edelman did.Everybody knows Patriots love these pick plays to free guys up. Obviously the refs are privy to it given the enormous amount of penalties they receive on these plays. Not all the penalties are correct, but the Pats need to do a better job at executing them, by trying to avoid contact.
On the Watson play, the defender Jules picked seemed too far away from Watson anyway, just slowing him down would have still allowed Watson to catch and run for a large gain. Maybe he doesn't score, but would have been a good play.
Gronk's seam routes, too, which I thought Gordon should have been tried on as well.Yeah, I am surprised we havent seen more of the plays they ran for Josh gordon in the endzone to let him use his size/strength to either go up and get it or draw a Pass interference.
Really not worth your time probably, but good effort. The best response is probably to say, if it’s so easy, then your quarterback should do it too...I was just on the cesspool called “Twitter” to respond to all the Patriot hater trolls
“Brady dinks & dunks his way to a victory” was a common theme I responded to. Why fans think the length of passes is beyond me. It’s really insignificant and meaningless when a team dominates the NFL for 2 decades

I don’t get upset at all. I’m more amazed at the depth to which our Patriots and Brady have gotten to inside the heads of hatersReally not worth your time probably, but good effort. The best response is probably to say, if it’s so easy, then your quarterback should do it too...
2015-2017 Brady was #1 in passes longer than 15 yardsIt’s also been disproven like 800 times. Brady is usually near the top of the league in air yard average. Brees is the one who stats show is a dump off QB.
Women are better at multi-tasking, or so my wife tells me all the timeI might be wrong, but I think his post was directed at Ashley in a positive way, like agreeing with you that she does a good job moderating and wondering how she’s even able to be able to watch the game having to do all the moderating duties. The Bill's didnt know that, they could have still run it and the way they ran it all day the Bills had to respect that.
They didn't decline it iirc. I thought they chose the 15 yards on the ensuing kickoff instead of the 1 yard on the 2 pt conversion. It was to ensure no chance of a return - - that fella they had back there was fast and a weapon.
