It's a players game more now than ever so I tend to put more blame or give more credit to the QB.
Look at the past 4 years championship game representatives at QB

2022- Mahomes(MVP-Best in the League)/Burrow(Top 5 QB) & Hurts(Top 5 QB)/Purdy(Looking like a top 10 QB)
2021- Mahomes/Burrow & Stafford(Top 10 QB)/Jimmy G(probably the only one outside Top 10)
2020- Mahomes/Allen & TB12/Rodgers(GOAT in TB12/HOF in Rodgers)
2019- Mahomes/Tannehill(another anomaly) & Rodgers/Jimmy G

So out of 16 spots only 3 times has a mediocre QB gotten the team to a Championship game

Main point to my post is we need a elite QB now more than ever or at least a stacked roster but you need at least one of those and right now we have nothing
Who makes the draft picks?

Who put together the team?

Macs not the answer but he’s also not the only problem. Our o-line is ranked 32 in the league. Our receivers get 0 separation. The offence is putrid. We can’t run. We can’t throw.

This whole **** show isn’t on Mac. He has a staring role, but Belichick is both the Producer and the Director.

Why? He has his chance in camp and preseason and was putrid. Got cut came back only because the rest of the league said no thank you and now had two forgettable relief appearances in mop up time when the other defense stopped trying. He’s done nothing to earn another shot at anything.

Zappe fever is where it belongs. Dead and buried. Give Grier Cunningham or a vet a chance to take Mac’s role.
You don't know that's like saying BB is the GOAT of GM's.

Yes it's not all on Mac but maybe if he showed a bit more leadership or guts(hehe) out there we probably wouldn't be embarrassing ourselves in back to back games.

I think we can agree to disagree here because I'm always going to blame(or give credit) to the player more. They make the plays at the end of the day.

Who knew that if you attempt to sort RT with Anderson, Rief, Wheately, Lowe or Mcdermott you don't really have a RT and if you refuse to sign WR that can get open you just have a whole load of below average WR. This was totally predictable and the only people that couldn't see it were the team themselves.

Don’t forget the Agholar and Jonnu signings.
Jonnu Smith is now on pace for 836 yds over 17 games. He has 246 yds in 5 games with Atlanta which is more than what he had last year for the Patriots. I start to think that the problem wasn’t him.

An obvious prediction, based on the past: BB isn't gonna say much useful in his WEEI appearance, or offer the accountability we want to hear, because he's not going to throw players under the bus. And him saying something like "yeah, I messed up building this roster" is saying "some of these player signings were mistakes."

I am shocked more people aren’t making a big deal out of this. Bill will be pissed. Mac already ran around behind the team’s back last year, now he’s doing this when he is legitimately a big part of the problem. Dude is asking to get let go and also running damage control for how it’s not really “his fault” when it happens.
Rob is probably his PR manager

Bill the GM is going to lose Bill the coach his job.

The problem with Smith wasn’t the GM but the coach. He was never able to put Jonnu in a good. Arthur smith seems to be able to do it without much of a problem.

Or the simple explanation is like what we can see this year, Mac Jones makes his receiver look like garbage.

Mac can't throw to the outsides are those floaters there yet??

Desmond Ridder can somewhat consistently complete a 15 yard pass, where Smith works the best.

No. That's not even remotely true. The stats don't bear that out.

So, you're saying that the reason the Pats have one of the worst O-lines in the league is that he's calling out the wrong protections? You're also saying that his receivers can't get separation because he's directing traffic wrong? C'mon, man. You're smarter than that.
What stats of mac don’t bear this out?
