Because we have the Better Jones??
Better defense.
And no I would take Daniel over Mac.

I bet Shanahan would send a 3rd for Mac. He would probably be good in that system/offense. He would at least be better than Darnold.

That’s what God said about Mac when his parents consummated him.
I'm starting to think you don't like Mac. Your attacks on him are uncalled for and shameful.

Anyway, I am certain that Mac has two moms and that "consummation" involved a turkey baster and some Cher CD's.

BB disagrees he says Mac can Play QB in this league. Don't shoot the messenger.
When you show me any coach in the league who would say differently about his QB, you’d have a point.

You don’t have a point, you have a grudge. A grudge regarding entertainment you choose to watch.

I find that…silly.

Travis Kelce is on every commercial since banging Swift.

I bet Shanahan would send a 3rd for Mac.

Watching this game, I keep wondering how Purdy and Mac would do if their roles were reversed.

Godchaux isn’t a bust, but he isn’t a two-gapper. Defense isn’t the problem here.

And sure Williams, Simmons and the like are great and if they could find someone, great.

But I’d be looking for a top QB in the draft, then spend all that money by bringing in the best WR, the best 3rd down/all down RB, and the best OL vets I could find.

I’d also start trading away some vets. Trent Brown can be great, but he’s a world-class headache out there. Some competitive team will pay dearly for him if they lose an OT.

Parker, Schuster, Bourne, Rham…all available.
Parker not after that stupid extension and Juju after that ridiculous contract knowing about his knees bravo GM BB.

Eh Zach Wilson still would.

I think such a depth chart change would come with some kind of offensive scheme change as well, possibly staffing tweaks.

Fair enough. I'm in a dower mood and have a hard time believing those changes would follow a personnel change without strictly addressing them as a part of that QB change.

There is no “today’s NFL.” It’s a myth that fans of losing teams invent.

Of course there is. Every era of football is different.

You cannot win today the way could in 2003. The rules are different and the players are different. Mobile QBs were mostly a joke back then and pocket passers ruled. Now the opposite is mostly true. The most talent at the skill positions for many or most teams was the lead back. Now it is almost always a receiver. The FB has mostly disappeared from the NFL. Teams base defenses were run based while today most teams are in nickel or dime for most of the game.

I remember back in 2003, I think only the Patriots and Steelers ran the 3-4. By 2005, most of the league ran it. I remember the trend of most of the league copying the Tampa 2 and moving away from man defenses and then about ten years ago they moved back to man defense. The league is constantly changing and mostly copying the most successful teams. Belichick used to be good at being ahead of the trends. Today that trend is a lot of speed and also speed and talent at the receiving position.

There is just far more talent at the receiving position in this league. Many teams have two or even three receivers who would be #1 receivers five to ten years ago. There is a heck of a lot more speed on both sides of the ball. Even the Pats have conceded that one even if they did a crap job to address that change.

Belichick doesn’t value receiving talent like most of the league. He still believes in getting big bodies on both sides of the line while the league had moved to more faster mobile linemen on both sides.

I agree with an earlier comment, if BB says he’s sticking with Mac next week… fire him immediately.

Unfortunately, Shanahan got what he would have wanted from Mac with Brock Purdy.

Don’t forget the Agholar and Jonnu signings.
The Sanu trade.
Drafting snail Harry
And trading up for Tyquan who was been made of glass.
Now to be fair i loved Tyquan but i would of made one of those moves not all of them.

He kinda said that earlier but in a deflectory, non-committal way.

He did, but he could have another Purdy in Mac as backup in case of another injury, and he would have the next 1.5 years of Mac’s rookie deal to evaluate him and see if he thinks maybe there’s a higher ceiling in that offense. That might be worth a 3rd to a Super Bowl caliber team.
