If he did that, the Pats would not have scored their first TD.
Correct, but I'd trade that TD for him playing in year four and not retired or hobbled.

Always good to dump the jets. Players played through a lot. I hope the win still encourages AVP and co to look at their playcalling and situational football. The end of the half sequence, not using mondre before when they were at the 2 yard line etc all get over looked because we won but really need to be fixed.

It's not even remotely true. Just this year disproves it I think. Based on defensive player stats, they've forced 5 and recovered 4 just this season. I'm guessing that tweet is a bit of exaggerated satire.

From the poster himself:

@archstanton543 what are you objecting to?

I did not say that everything is great with this team I am simply happy that they won a game...
Don't get bothered by it.

Some people just can't help but yell at clouds.

He fears your joy is contagious and is terrified everyone around him might catch it. Probably lays awake at night sweating just thinking about it.

I think the situational coaching was good overall at the end. They took a smart to at around 2:40 when jets were about to score to give us more time to respond. Then we moved down faster than expected so they rightfully drained the clock and scored with 20 seconds. Well managed.

Before the half i know was controversial but i was ok with it. Jacoby was just inserted and they kinda just wanted to get to the half down 6. There is lots to improve on though situationally but i thought yesterday overall was a step in the right direction.

Uh... I wouldn't go that far bud

I do think Wolf and company did a good job identifying Demontrey Jacobs and Ben Brown off of other team's waivers/practice squads, but I don't think I'd call the unit a "strength" moreso as "not a total disaster anymore".... Although "not a total disaster" probably describes the OLs of half the league at least

I enjoyed this win a lot, mainly because there were two a-hole Jet fans in the row in front of us. We were all pretty bummed when they bolted after Boutte's catch. I think they bolted before the ball was caught because we all turned to them immediately after the play to get back at them for the taunts they threw our way.

A few complaints, some, as usual, are about the refereeing. Questionable DPI calls, including the one the Jets declined. Wilson pushed off on that one and it looked like OPI to me on the replay. The missed helmet-to-helmet penalty - it was very obvious live. Another one was at the end of the half, when the Patriots stupidly ran the clock out. Brissett was stopped on the final play, whistles blew and the Jets still drove him to the ground. That was classic unnecessary roughness, especially with regards to the QB. Call that stuff! The worst call was the defensive holding on a run play on a Patriots defensive lineman who was double-teamed on the play. That was NOT holding.

One last question about the refereeing... late in the 3rd, the Patriots punted and the Jets fielded it at the 26. The Jets returner got it back to the 32 but there was a flag. The refs announced the penalty as "During the return - holding - 10 yard penalty from the end of the run". Is that right?? Isn't it supposed to be 10 yards from the spot of the foul or, in the case of a punt, 10 yards from where they fielded the ball?

Good points about the refereeing.

I think that 10 yards from the end of the run was just a mistake in diction -- I think that they spotted the ball, as they should have, 10 yards from the spot of the foul. But I'll have to watch the game to check.

Another terrible call in favour of the JETE was on the Pats' first punt. If you look again, you'll see that Schooler was rugby tackled on his way to the returner -- and there was no one in the way for the ref not to see it.

The non-PI against (IIRC) Thornton was terrible too. There was clear contact with the receiver before the ball arrived.

Finally, there was a JETE catch towards the end of the game that seemed to me to hit the ground and help the player get control. The Pats should have challenged that one, though.

It made beating the JETE and the NYFL together even more enjoyable.

(We didn't have any a-hole JETE fans near us, to be fair. In fact, after the game a JETE fan in a Chrebet jersey was bewailing his lot and I said "You know, I'm so happy I almost feel sorry for you!")

But they spotted the ball at the 22, which was 10 yards from the end of the runback and I highly doubt that the hold occurred exactly at the spot the returner was tackled. In fact, it looked like it occurred back near the catch.

I believe if the ball is still in the air when the penalty occurs it is 10 yards from where they catch it. If it’s during the return its 10 yards from the spot of the foul.

Michael Jordan may be another underrated find but hes had a couple of rough outings in a row and may be showing why hes mostly a backup. But yeah, hes definitely pumping them up a little too much lol

Meh. Not really a fan. I like Brown, even though he had a few bad plays Sunday.

True, Jordan might be getting exposed a little bit but he was still a good piece as far as being reliable and doing his job. Granted he's kind of a "legacy" player who's been kicking around NE for a little while but on the PS mostly.

Seems like Mayo is mainly trying to pump up his OL a little after giving them crap earlier in the season and also trying to pat Wolf on the back a little extra to maintain good relations. "Maybe if I say something nice about Eliot, he'll listen when I ask him if we can trade for a WR..."
