This is what I am afraid of. BB can now make a bit of an argument that Patricia took time to get the hang of things but he has come along quite as shown over last few games.
Patricia getting the hang of things? Are you delusional? If anything the final two drives EPITOMIZED Patricia's failures as an OC. When they chips are down, he calls moronic plays like a screen pass short of the endzone for the 2 point conversion and a draw play on 2nd and 20 that leads to 3rd and 19. Matt Patricia is a BUFFOON and needs to be demoted from the OC position ASAP. I know they call him 'offensive assistant' but that's just so they don't need to pay his salary, the Lions are doing that at the moment.
CHEAPING out on OC was a disastrous mistake by BB and he better not repeat the FAILED experiment again this offseason! Hire a real OC with credentials! Mac Jones, essentially lost a year of development because he got the two crappiest coaches possible put in charge of the offense - Matt Patricia and Joe Judge. Maybe Mac's not the guy but it's so hard to tell with the coaching in place right now. Mac made some plays today true, with 3 TD passes, but those 3 INTs also killed us. So it's a wash and in the end the offense still only scores 23 total points not enough to keep up with good teams in a shootout where the offense has to carry the load to get a win.
how about the game we were robbed by the officials agains the Raiders or the one where we were going in for the win against Cincy when Rham fumbled? Those are two tough losses imo
Bill needs to build around the tandem of Judon and Uche. I hope Bill doesn't let them rot like he did with the core of Seymour, Wilfork and Warren in the early days. Refused to add any talent around them and had to find his usual stop gaps. They didn't win anything with the best 3-4 DL in the league since 2004.
Uche is a 1 trick pony. Him giving up contain to try and rush inside was directly responsible for 1 TD and also a huge 3rd down conversion. He’s a sub-rusher not a cornerstone player IMO.
My narrative is supported by facts. Bill doesn't have a good record without brady. Brady won the whole thing first year without bill and had a really good follow up year where he just fell short. That's not a narrative. That's reality.
Well this went as I expected in many ways, Buffalo is a lot better, they had a couple of things to play for, and the emotional environment was 100% on their side. The Pats fought hard but as was the case so many times this year they made too many mental mistakes to win a close game against superior talent.
With the special teams a disaster for much of the year the door should be open for Judge to take over for Achord. Needless to say Patricia and the entire offensive coaching staff must be replaced, as hard as that is for me in reference to Troy Brown. Let MP go back to the Ernie role that I think he was brought back for.
They need a serious upgrade in talent at many positions, including the coaching staff but most importantly at OT. They will have a good opportunity to address many spots this offseason but I hope like hell they don’t put themselves in a poor position again by spending too much on veteran free agents and finding themselves tight to the cap as they were last offseason. To me that was a hidden story this year, exemplified by Wynn, Bailey, and Jonnu Smith to name three of the most egregious examples.
Finally whomever they hopefully bring in to address the offense needs to decide very quickly whether Mac Jones is the guy and if so get him the emotional support he seems to need so much, starting with getting MP and JJ the hell away from him.

I am not fillusional lol. I called the decision dumb and a disaster from day one.
My point was that BB could make that point with his stubbornness. Even though it is still bad, there is no doubt the offense improved a bit over the last few games relative to the disasters early in the season.
No team in the league was going to go into Buffalo this week and win...period, not KC, not San Fran, not Philly, not Cincy....this was an impossible spot and we played very competitively.
Back in 1999, Pete Carroll got fired the first time he missed the playoffs in his 3 years of his tenure making the playoffs in the 2 previous years. He dealt with a ton of injuries including Bledsoe in 1998 and horrible draft and personnel decisions by Grier.
Bill misses the playoffs 2 out the last 3 years without Tom. What does Robert do?
Yeah looks like they are locked into 15 or 14 pending Washington. All of the other teams who might go to 8-9 with losses today would finish with higher Strength of Schedule than NE so would still draft behind them.

The Raiders game more so because the lateral play showed Patricia had no control of his players and did not instill situational football knowledge into them.
