I’m at a brewery in Beaumont Tx next to a Seattle fan. The best we could figure is he felt that tossing it to a receiver with a blocker ahead of him was a better choice than running for another ten yards and probably wasting the rest of the clock.
Anyone else notice the only time Seattle gets pressure is by blitzing? Their pedestrian pass rushers aren’t having the game of their lives like they did in the Super Bowl.
Might’ve been worth a try but I can see why not. Their punt coverage has been perfect so far and the only way Seattle wins at this point is some fluky plays or mistakes by us.
Returns are a part of the game, yes, no doubt. He probably got word that Darnold was out and wants them to adjust and win this the hard way. It’s week one. Good half time message about “grit” could go a long way. Also punt returns are dangerous and should be saved for games that you think you can’t win
