Defense step up huge, but got overshadow by Arrington PI and Brown PI. Stupid penalties kill the Patriots.

O-Line is mediocre at best, Light and Connelly been really bad last few weeks. Mankins isn't dominating like he used to. 4 men rush and Brady almost always on his back.

Offensive play-callings need to be better, stop abandon the runs!

The Arrington PI shouldn't have been called. Manningham is the one who initiated contact. Defensive players are supposed to be entitled to the space they are standing in.

Gotta disagree with your other assessments as well. Connolly actually was very good. He got pulled on a couple of occasions for Wendell and it was Wendell who couldn't handle things.

Light handled things well. Boley wasn't Light's responsibility. Boley was Mankins responsibility since Light was already engaged..

hate to say it but eli manning > brady in head to head match ups it seems (particularly in the clutch)

To blame Brady for GIVING THE TEAM THE LEAD IN THE LAST 2 GAMES WITH 2 MINUTES LEFT ONLY TO HAVE THE DEFENSE FOLD LIKE AN OLD WALLET IS PATHETIC..What are you watching ????

Brady threw a duck to Price last week on a sure TD.

It is getting frustrating to watch the offense take two quarters to get going.

When was the last time, this season, that the Patriots took the ball to start a half down for a TD?

The three turnovers by Brady were huge. The miss to an open Hernandez for a TD was huge. If I had to pick one player to pin the loss on, it would be Sergio Brown. Next, it would be Brady.

If Brady played like his normal self in the first three quarters, this game wouldn't have been close. Neither would the PIT game nor the DAL game.

Brady's in a funk. And he needs to snap out of it before the team racks up too many losses.

Re: How did we get worse when we didn't lose anyone to FA or Retirement?

This is one of the rare years when we return most starters from last season.

We didn't lose any important players to Retirement or Free Agency.

So how did we get worse?

Simple. We cut main contributors from last season.

Brandon Tate, Darius Butler, Brandon Meriweather, and James Sanders.

We also cut 2 good depth players like Leigh Bodden and Jarad Page.

Tate went on to be AFC Special Teamer of the Week. Meanwhile, we can barely move the ball past the 20 yard line on kick returns. It's pathetic. Edelman is NOT a play maker, and coughed up the ball today. He's been a disappointment all year long.

Ocho Cinco has done NOTHING this year. Tate produced more last year than Ocho has this year.

Butler and Bodden are better than any 3rd or 4th CB we have right now. Meriweather and Sanders knew our system and played well within it. Same with Page.

So now what are we left with?

Molden? Adams? Sergio Brown? Barrett? These are all special teamers and practice squad players.

Who knows. Maybe next week we'll re-sign Ross Ventrone again and hope he can fill the void in our secondary.

You lose credibility when you make comments that aren't true. The Pats did NOT cut Jarrad Page. He was a UFA who chose to sign in Philly and not re-sign with the Pats.

As for Bodden, I don't know about you, but I noticed that he hasn't been signed by anyone yet.. You'd think a guy like that would be a hot commodity.

You claim that Edelman has been a disappointment all year when he's been the Pats best kick returner and best punt returner is just absurd.

I agree about Sanders. Not sure I agree about Butler. I didn't cry any tears over Meriweather being cut, but he is an upgrade over Barrett or Brown.

I was at the game... I gotta put this one on the offense. Brady missed everything out there today. The giants D isn't that good. Our O just sucked today, notwithstanding the late flurry of points.

Sergio Brown should be cut for being a ******.

Vollmer has turned into Kaczur.

Brady stunk for 3 1/2 quarters.

We need 2 co-ordinators and a guy to replace Caserio.

Someone with the Balls to say NO to Belichick.

I have the balls to tell YOU NO. Seriously, you need to stop taking everything you read by idiots like Gaspar and Curran as being gospel. This idea that Caserio doesn't say NO to Belichick is unfounded in every way, shape and form.

I don't blame Sergio Brown for the PI call. That play should never have happened. Why? Because of the BS call on Arrington and the BS NON-Call on Manningham during Manning's run..

The three losses are not all on Brady, but he certainly had his share in the losses. As the QB and leader of the team, he needs to step up and play at the MVP caliber. If Brady wants to categorically cement himself as a better QB than Montana, Elway, and Manning, he needs to win a 4th SB with the team on his back. From here to the end of his career, the Patriots will be Brady's team. The same could not be said for 2001, 2003, and 2004.

You're not wrong, but this is not a good thing for the Patriots, because he has been pretty bad as part of the return game.

Before anyone gets too high on the defense, don't forget two of their best offensive players were out.

D caught a break, and played well, but it's not like we faced a super stout offense.

Maybe a QB who could actually throw the ball so that the WR on the deep routes could catch it. Sorry, but Brady has regularly over-thrown Chad. Tonight was especially bad since, of the 6 targets that Chad had tonight, I think there was only ONE where Chad actually had a chance on the ball. As for OCHO, he's never been a "deep route" threat. So, that would seem to be your incorrect expectation.

Ocho is continually in the wrong place at the wrong time. Brady throws the ball to a specific spot before Ocho breaks his route. Brady played bad, but hes knows the playbook and Ocho does not. Thats been well documented.

Ocho was brought here to stretch the field. Hes certainly not in NE to compete for routes with Welker and Branch. NE didnt need more guys to do that.

Price could finally pay dividends - The Sun Chronicle Online - Patriots

Brady underthrew Ocho when he beat his man deep and was wide open in the endzone tonight. Seriously Triumph, you're like a one trick pony with this Ocho hatred.

If youre happy paying 6 mil to a bench warmer good for you.

He was running wide open across the field for a touchdown and Brady just missed. The guy is not the problem. Up until this week he has hardly played. Deion Branch is always on the field and has been a non-factor after a great first few weeks.

Re: Tracy "fing" White

Except that Manning didn't "march them right down the field". The REFS marched the Giants right down the field. They missed numerous holding calls, particularly Manningham (while standing OOBS) holding McCourty on Manning's run and the BS PI call on Arrington.

The refs also missed an offensive PI on Gronk...The refs were not to blame for the Pats giving up 14 points in the final 3 minutes.

I agree. The Refs werent the problem.

The Pats got away with plenty.

I could handle it if we were discussing the fact that the D isn't very good. The sad thing is that there is a slow realisation that the team just isn't that good. Sure we can beat the Dolphins or the Raiders, and I'm sure we will beat the Chiefs, Colts, Broncos etc to double get 10 wins but I have seen nothing to suggest we can win consistently in January.

no deep threat on offense, can't beat man coverage, no commitment to running the football, can't return kicks past the 20, don't play complimentary football, don't react to the situation, the D gets worse the more important the play gets, culminating in 4th quarter touchdown drives seemingly given up at will.

I see at least 10 teams that can win my lovely Patriots easily. That´s the hard truth. In the last 3 years was the time to start construct the future of a "NEW WINNING ERA". The only 3 guys i see with heart and soul in this team is Tom Brady, Wilfork and Wes Welker. In my personal opinion, when this guys end their careers their will no be no "NEW WINNING ERA" in the near future. Kraft and Bill wake up please. In the last 3 years, i only saw deceptions and some mistakes. When i see a lucky and mediocre QB with 2 super bowls, like "ratshamburguer" makes me sick. Steelers and Ravens D are top notch in the last decade, and they had a nice O-Line and some good wr. We have a weak D, that it´s getting better because our O-Line is running more the game, give the D some rest. Where do we see a "GREAT" LB, RB, WR in this team? We should have a mixed running/passing game. The one conclusion i watch from this confusion is that we are short on making points and suffering less points from our opponents and we are loosing. It´s true that we got stronger teams after "bye", even so thats no excuse for a Special Team.

And yes, Tom Brady in the last games is playing with his head in the moon.

needing a TD is a different animal than just needing a FG...Woodhead screwed up the clock killing by going out of bounds on a run if you remember. That was the play to kill a good 40 seconds.

I second that.

European fan here, sorry for my "English".

GO PATRIOTS! LOVE YOU PATS! C´MON GET THAT RING!

That juggernaut of a Steelers offense, which shredded the Patriots last week, has 6 points so far tonight.....

No, he is not continually in the wrong place, you are absolutely wrong. Sometimes? Yes

Price wasn't even active today. If Ocho is as terrible as you say, what does that say about Price?

As usual, a "good game" is the Patriots choking away a lead at the end of a game. It happens time and time again, I am sickened that Belichick is so accepting of it. And he must be, because he hasn't done crap to fix it.
It's almost to the point where I wish we would just start over. I am so fed up with the 2 minute collapses we see time and time again. And spare me the "We're always a top team" crap, because we aren't. 14-2 was a mirage last year due to Brady's incredibly lucky INT-less streak. This year those tipped balls aren't falling to the ground like they were last year, and we're seeing what last year should have been like.

Thank God I got to go to the Pats/Jets game a few weeks ago and watch Rex's Bunch get slapped around, because that was most likely the high point of this season.

I think Brady deserves some blame here, also. He has been a front-runner since the 2006 AFCCG. Since helping to blow that lead to the Colts, I can't recall him truly pulling us out of adversity. He racked up big numbers in 2007 and 2010 - but showed nothing in the big games. I see him as the early 2000's Peyton Manning at this point. That stupid seam route to Gronk is so predictable he has thrown 3 picks on it this year. I am just so upset.

Offense gave the D the lead to win the game and they couldn't do it. As good as the D was and as bad as the O was at the en of the day the O did enough which was score a touchdown with a minute half to go
