In my opinion... neither penalty was an actual penalty. The first, Wise got pushed into Winston and Winston flopped horribly. The second, Marsh barely bumped him. I guess you COULD say it's a penalty, but then if it is then Brady should have had several penalties for the same thing by now yet has none.

I actually agree with you, but situationally there was no reason for them to do anything other than try to veer away from the QB in that situation, especially Marsh. In Wise's credit, he was being pretty blatantly held so not sure if that threw off his momentum, but still appeared to go for the push.

Defense was gret

I'll wait to see the play again. I had the perception of some helmet to helmet, but I'm not sure

defense still far from worry-free, w/the few longish runs. Games turn on a few big plays, somebody once said... so far it looks like they can be had on the ground.

quick half time thoughts

1. The improve by the defense is palpable and much need by both them and US. /..... so far.

2. This offense NEEDS Gronk in the red zone - if not to get the TD but to open up things for others.

3. The Pats need to finish those drives- Between the 2o's they haven't been stopped except by themselves. Tampa can't stop them.

4. Decent first half = not great but OK with a 6 pt lead. It should be more. This first series on defense is critical

i am just appreciating what brady is doing with a bunch of good but not other world receivers and a patch oline .

Sadly I am 3 minutes behind so I can't post on here without be spoiled. Overall I think the d has done well. A lot of it has been Tampa just doing badly. It isn't like they are forcing a lot of bad plays but on the whole pressure has been okay with just 3 or 4 and most importantly no people running wide open deep this game.

Lol this is the fakest apology ever.

Patriots are winning 13-7, have moved the ball at will after the first couple drives, Brady had a perfect 2nd quarter, and the Bucs have managed one good drive.

And some of you are complaining. What the **** do you whiners want

Last year's team would have put a td there. This offense still looks like a work in progress.

And produced multiple 3 & outs. Overall they have been playing well tonight.
Agreed. Still the discipline problems were very bad. That has to be fixed or it will continue to catch up to us. It didn't there.

I'm fine with the theory behind that call, but if that's what you're doing just put Lewis in there since he gives you a much better chance of picking up some real yardage on that draw. White running on a delay into the teeth of the one area where Tampa's defense is strong is just not a matchup or situation you want.

White is the preferred back right now and Lewis a matchup player. Thats how the roles are set right now.

Does anyone have any explanation for why we went so heavy on play action in the first couple of drives? Seemed like 5 of the first 7 passes were play actions and we hadn't even run the ball yet.

Interesting concept though, if they were using the play action pass to set up the run. Exactly the kind of backwards thinking Joshie's known for.

No, no it's not. We know who the coach is.
You can’t say that this defense hasn’t looked disorganized, undisciplined, sloppy and with poor communication overall so far this season....they will get better....but allowing almost 8yd a carry and leaving some receivers wide frigging open (no one there) isn’t going to get it done....they will figure it out....but maddening to watch now

I like the choppiness the defense is showing show toughness.
What do you guys want?
I like that Harmon didn't back down to Jackson and Harmon has always been one of my favorite players.
Adam Butler is a good player but we could really use Valentine or a motivated Branch.

I wouldn't be surprised if Marsh was benched for his dumb plays.. But, they haven't benched Bolden despite him getting his 2nd or 3rd Special teams penalty..

Shutup Deion.

Another positive is Winston has not had many good chances to run for yards. That is underated
