Hmm .. if they were training against Grissom's explosiveness to prepare for Donald .. this means we have to be worried for TB today ..
EDIT: If only they could hold on to A Johnson ..
If Rams tackle Aaron Donald (26 sacks in 43 career games) is held in check today, it could reflect well on reserve Patriots defensive lineman Geneo Grissom. I was curious as to how the Patriots would duplicate Donald in practice because his physical makeup (6-foot-1, 285 pounds) and explosive one-gap playing style is unlike anything the Patriots have on their roster at defensive tackle, and was told that they primarily gave Grissom that responsibility on the scout team this week. Grissom (6-4, 265) is a defensive end, but the Patriots lined him up inside in practice, which highlights the challenge of Donald’s quickness on the interior.
But, if there was a living example of perpetual mediocrity, it'd be Jeff Fisher. If he had ever coached in the AFCE, he would never have gotten another HC job.
Cyrus Jones back in action. I'm rooting for him to have a fumble-free game. It would be great if he could take some of the return load off of Edelman and Amendola.
Having the most losses does not make you the worst - kind of like a pitcher losing 20 games. If you were horrid, you would not get the chance. But he seems to be getting worse.
This is the lesson to people, including youngsters:
Be a total ignorant, deluded loudmouthed loser with no redeeming qualities or anything valid or useful to say or contribute, and you'll be honored as a national hero.
Yeah, there's a long who's-who of lousy coaches ahead of Fisher. He'll never touch the likes of David Shula, or the many college coaches who went running back to the NCAA with their tails between their legs (Spurrier, Holtz, etc.).
The difference is that somehow, nobody seems to notice Fisher is bad. 20 years as an NFL head coach, and a freshly signed extension! It's like he has the power to cloud owners' minds.
But, if there was a living example of perpetual mediocrity, it'd be Jeff Fisher. If he had ever coached in the AFCE, he would never have gotten another HC job.
More significant than his mediocrity as a head coach, is his active, direct encouragement of and involvement with injuring Rodney Harrison; and his vociferous endorsement of the fable that the Patriots cheated.
