I think the biggest reason people already lost faith in him is because he makes so many mental errors, which was meant to be the way he wins you games.
No one was expecting 60 yard sidearm TD bombs and 50 yard scrambles, but if he's not even seeing his favourite receiver wide open, along with the numerous other mental mistakes each game, then you have a huge problem scoring points.
This is what happens when you call plays not to lose. Might just be what helps New England jump on top, and seeing it firsthand definitely explains the Raiders' other issues this season.
