An upgrade/replacement hasn't been found for two years.

If we're just looking for a Jordan Richards replacement (pure swap of roles), I'm sure it could be filled reasonably by someone making $1M - $1.5M.

Sadly I think that's because Belichick hasn't been actively looking for it - not believing it necessary. He's brought in nothing but UDFA in camp. Hopefully he'll take off his blinders and do something about it this time. Seems like he always has one of those blind spots on his roster.... Richards inherited that from Bequette.

Sheldon Richardson is visiting the Vikings today.

The mood is much better today. Yesterday it was like Jonestown in here with most posters circling the pink koolaid.
It’s sort of like watching the seven stages of grief.

Only I’m not sure if we’re in the acceptance or denial stage...

Why can't we have nice things?

I like these nice things.

If Belichick can deliver another championship with unexciting role players, I will be more than happy not to have nice things like Sheldon Richardson....

Yes, but you can't play 4 safeties on every snap. It doesn't make sense to pay $9 million a year or whatever for what last year was a 25% snap role.
It does when Mathieu can effectively play Linebacker.

You're telling me you'd rather have someone like Elandon Roberts out there over Mathieu? Not a chance.

Unless the player can play more than just safety. Which he can. Or could, at least - the injury issue is definitely an open question. Rotating with Rowe as your CB2 and rotating with Jonathan Jones in the slot, in addition to playing safety in dime packages and giving Chung/McCourty/Harmon breathers.

I don’t think he is a corner.

Linebacker? You are kidding right? 5’9 186 lb

Yes, linebacker. Welcome to the NFL in 2018 where not all linebackers are 6'3 and weigh 230. There are these guys who play Safety/Linebacker hybrid roles, I know, surprising, right...

The season before he tore his right ACL, he played 170 snaps lined up as an outside linebacker.

Apart from being familiar with Pats proceedings in spring and summer . and bringing some vet leadership to OTAs, . Woodhead also wouldn't count against comp picks (and Vereen f.e. would).

Is Sammy Watkins the winner for dumbest contract so far? 16 mill? ************...Keenum is a huge amount but, least it’s only a two year deal.

4 years- 16 million. Earned through incentives.

That’s our best offer Tyrann.

That is just ridiculous.

Excellent post.

I could care less what you deem ridiculous.

He's played Linebacker in the NFL and done so effectively. It makes no difference whether or not you're impressed with his height and weight.

Comparing Pats fans to the Jonestown cultists is always funny, if Belichick represents Jones then instead of Koolade he's serving up AFC East championships and legit shots at Super Bowls...

Super Bowls vs grisly death... good comparison... Meanwhile the Eagles just won their first Super Bowl... like ever.
