I can't say for certain, but I wouldn't be surprised if Robinson played hurt from week 15 onward. His play dropped significantly.

If he wasn't playing hurt, then it's a bigger reason to avoid him.

Landry - $15M AAV
Spillane - $12.5M AAV
Davis - $20M AAV
Moses - $8M AAV
Hooper - $5M (one year)
Godchaux trade - gain of ~$1M cap space

If we assume that the first year cap hits for these deals will be roughly 1/3 of their AAV each, that is:
Landry - $5M cap hit
Spillane - $4M cap hit
Davis - $7M cap hit
Moses - $3M cap hit
Hooper - $5M cap hit (one year)
Godchaux - (+$1M cap space)

Totals out to $23M in cap commitments. Pats most likely still have around $100M in space left.
Latest from Miguel (includes Godchaux trade):

Which could be why he's still out there.
I do think the LT market is going crazy as it dwindles, too. Moore just got an insane amount.

His name was thrown around last year.
Or maybe our LT position isn’t as bad as we think?

Maybe our staff sees something to easily correct on the tape.
They should cut the entire tape of Lowe...save humanity.

Are you going to like, infuse him with the souls of Joe Thomas and Orlando Pace or something?

Hey what reason do you have to not be optimistic at least till a few games have passed?

How sick would it be if Moses held down RT for all 3 of those years. Crazier things have happened.

Dj reed or Carlton Davis. Who is better?
I think its reed
Based on what?
Based on last year Davis is better in almost all analytical and stats. Reed was probably better before last year so did Davis improve or have a lucky year? Did Reed get worse or an outlier year?

Picks last 3 years:

Reed: 2
Davis: 5

Passer rating against:
Reed: 87.1
Davis: 77.0

Both had 9 and 11 Passes defended last 2 years

PFF
Reed: 70.7
Davis 74.5

MGTeich said something about about Lowe needing coaching to improve. Maybe Marrone and Kugler think that too.

I'm not hyping Lowe. He was bottom 5 in terms of LTs last season. But he DID improve over the previous season. Not sure if he will improve more. But do believe the Pats should look to upgrade him.

With the Moses signing, the Pats have a BUNCH of OTs. It's going to be interesting to see what shakes out.
I should have actually typed my entire thought. While he has improved, we need more competition and then let it play out in training camp and preseason because you are absolutely correct that he could be upgraded and honestly it would take much.

It makes no sense to me how top pass rushers are making so much more then Top LT’s. Great pass rushers are a lot more common then great LT’s. You can get by with middle of the pack pass rushers. You have a lot harder time winning with mediocre Tackles.
