Sooooo.....best draft in 15 years at this juncture?
Hopefully it is. This draft certainly brings hope. Every pick has made sense. No need to scramble for google because half the picks aren't even listed in draft guides! The lack of reaches is so satisfying after nearly a decade of poor drafts characterized by head scratching reaches of players nobody heard of.

The Patriots and Vrabel clearly had a plan and vision for the draft and it unfolded pretty much as they planned. Their moves all make sense. The value and the positions addressed all jive with what the fans have wanted and researched for months leading up to the draft. It's not going to be perfect and not everyone will pan out, but it just MAKES SENSE for once!

I don't remember a draft without at least one "why the eff did we pick HIM, there?" pick. Closest this time was Woodson, but some pundits had him higher and some had him near where he went, so for me it's nothing Like that.

This draft was so enjoyable
And I know it was just not me
We filled major holes with players we all talked about and wanted
You know it was a solid draft on paper because everyone on this site was having a love fest with each other
Normally this site goes nuclear on draft day
Even Sam had incense burning while in morning pose
Sorry Sam. I couldn’t resist

The Eagles draft well.
I don't claim to know much about Cameron Williams, but I would have been more excited about drafting his potential than picking a kicker. But it's a nitpick, I'm very satisfied with this draft.

Did you miss the first round meltdown?

Thinking further, this draft makes total sense. Our forum draft experts used to get annoyed because Belichick would do his own thing, while Houston under Caserio and Tennessee would take all the players they identified. Well, now we have the Tennessee staff here.

interesting that the level of the Ravens support of Tucker is proportional to the level of his success as a kicker. Last year was not a good year kicking for Tucker. This year they draft a kicker. I WISH the NFL would finish their "investigation". How come it takes a freakin YEAR+

And while I'm rantin'. Why hasn't Rachee Rice been punished yet over a YEAR after the event that left people injured on the highway after he runs away from the scene and not helping the injured from the accident HE helped cause.

So every time I hear about how Rice is getting closer to playing and NOTHING is mentioned about his 'supposed' punishment PISSES me off!

Let’s see how they pan out first, but trading an older injured Judon for a younger healthy version plus an all-pro caliber center would be amazing.
Agree. The point was trading players and picks and turning one pick into potentially 3 good players. It's manufacturing opportunity

After everything I’ve read over now on Woodson he definitely seemed to be a big reach at the spot where we drafted him . Projected to be a 6th to seven rounder…..but who knows maybe he will be all pro! Otherwise seems to be the only whiff by Vrabel and team in this draft…..and overall one of the best drafts by Pats in many years it would seem!

so, a good draft because the Pats picked players were the so called draft "gurus" thought they should be drafted? I would think a team's scouts would know a lot more than the draft "gurus" and many picks would be made outside the range that the "gurus' laid out for us.
In reality, we have know idea if this draft was good or not until a few years out, just like every other draft. If Campbell can't play tackle, then that's a huge miss at #4.
It just seems like if a player falls that the "gurus" have ranked higher, everyone screams great pick....and if a player gets drafted sooner than the 'gurus" say, then everyone screams it's a reach.
