Massive upgrade. If they have another offseason like this one, and Maye is the real deal, they could be serious contenders by 26’.

I often wonder if the draft gurus on this board have some sort of deep, blood-level grudges/rivalries with each other.

Just gonna assume you're a BGC parachute account.
Nope, "it is just a flesh wound" is a British joke (Monty Python). Manxman is British and loves Monty Python.

But I love BGC too. I love all of the draft gurus (but not as much as the Asian ladies).

Could have gotten him as an UDFA.
Actually probably not, there was going to be a bidding war.

Ashby measured 6-1 ..... 231 at his pro day.

@manxman2601 started really strong hitting pick after pick, but finished weak missing pick after pick. The dude is fading fast. Maybe it is just a flesh wound?
I see my nemesis is posting again. Check out the UDFA thread...4 now! Plus <cough> Kobee Bryant <cough> in the 7th round - ish.

Monty Python? I don't know that guy.

Woodson was not a highly rated safety, taken higher than several higher rated safeties. YOU’RE ALLOWED to double dip at WR, there’s no rules against it. The reason you double dip, you have a better chance that one of those guys makes it. I liked that they double dipped last year, but they picked 2 slower WRs.
“higher rated safeties” rated higher than woodson BY WHOM? Jeremiah is one of the most respected draft guys, in part because he is a former NFL scout, and he had Woodson as his 90th player overall.

He has a much better chance to make the team and potentially make an impact than the WR you listed, all of whom would have a tough time making the 53. How many WRs do you expect them to carry?

So you’re telling me a long snapper wouldn’t come to New England if offered an UDFA contract ? Here’s a dollar, buy a clue.

Who needs a clue again? Vanderbilt had the No. 1 special teams unit in the nation in 2024 and Ashby was a big part of that. It’s almost as if the Patriots know a lot about the player and their chances of signing him as an UDFA and you know nothing about either.
The kid was born and raised in GA and chose to play at colleges location in SC and TN. If the Falcons, Titans or Panthers offer him similar money as an UDFA, do you think he would choose to play in MA, for a team with a vet LS who is still playing at a high level?

You forgot Eric Johnson and Truman Jones.

Agreed 1,000,000%. What scared me about this draft is that they didn’t pick another WR or a TE. I love that Henderson & Williams are explosive, but they could’ve used more explosive weapons. That too is very Belichickian, Bill seemed to think you can only draft one or two explosive players in each draft.

For instance, the Craig Woodson pick, I hated that pick. WR Dont’e Thornton (Raiders) was still there, a HUGE, EXPLOSIVE WR. Take a swing at the fences. WR Arian Smith (Jets) was still there. Edge Jack Sawyer (Steelers) was there. WR Jalin Lane was there (Commanders). WR Jalin Royals (Chiefs). Woodson was not a highly rated safety, taken higher than several higher rated safeties. Just because they didn't do what YOU wanted doesn't mean that they screwed up. People like YOU always think that the f'in BS draftniks that you have access to are the God's Gift to Draft information. You always forget that they don't know 1/10th of what these teams know and most of the time they're using scraps gleaned from teams to put their stuff together.

Whining like a 2 bit ho because your guys weren't taken only shows your narcissism.

What "higher rated safeties" who are leaders and highly intelligent at diagnosing plays were there? Because those are 2 of the intangibles that Woodson has going for him.

Could have gotten him as an UDFA.
Incorrect. It was stated that there was likely to be a bidding war on him. Since teams are limited in what they can spend on UDFA contracts, they likely weren't going to get him if they didn't draft him.

You're kidding! This skinny guy's gonna play center? I mean, I know they can't line up against him, but they'll crush him from an angle.
Attention to detail isn't really your think, is it.. The date on that video is 2018.. So, 6 years ago..

Kid is 6'1 and 221 lbs now.

The kid was 16 years old in the video that was posted, no idea why people would think he’s still that rail thin today.
Because people don't pay attention to details like the DATE that is clearly stamped on the video. They'd rather over-react and ridicule than pay attention and evaluate with a modicum of logic.
