As I've said numerous times before, having Mac start over Zappe (taking all 1st team practice snaps) in the start against the Bears last year was a terrible mistake. Zap doesn't panic. Does he make mental errors dumb throws sometimes? Of course (like that 1st attempt at a wall - I mean he really stepped into that galactic mistake with confidence). This is his 6th start ever. But the pocket presence I saw in that Browns start last year was light years above Mac's. Yes, Pats will certainly need to draft a QB next year, but I'm all for seeing more of what this kid can do.
Interesting to think at one point, Vinatieri was a 70% FG kicker during his rookie year. I mean it's not as bad as Ryland's 64% leading up to that winning kick, but who knows where this kid goes after this.
I'm the opposite of a Parker fan, but he was clutch.
