NFL GAME DAY DISCUSSION Official 2023 Free Agency Thread

The free agents available this year are below average & we need receivers with talent & I am not hearing any trade talk.

If we make a trade, I will be happy, but outside of a OBJ “can he still play?”, I don’t see any free agent receivers outside of Meyers who I would want & I wouldn’t give Meyers the money they are talking.

The thought of Meyers, Thornton, & often injured Parker to start 2023 frustrates me.

Why would you be happy with that?

Tyreek Hill, Davonte Adams, and AJ Brown were all trade during or after the draft last year. Most of the biggest trade happen around the draft or after.

Edmunds to Bears. Dang.

I think he's the best for what this offense needs if Meyers goes.

I don't. I'm not sold on him because of the talent that was around him.
I'd rather take someone in the 4th round like Parker Washington. I think he'd provide what they need out of the slot when they go multiple receivers. Otherwise, I think that Bourne will pull the Julian Edelman role and be opposite Parker or Thornton.

Where’s “Nike” when we *really* need him??

I love when people claim that Parker, Bourne and Thornton are "hot garbage" when, in reality, they are an very good base to add to.
When Bourne was used effectively in 2021, he was the Pats best receiver. Yes, better than Meyers. He is a catalyst type player. He spent last year in the dog house because Patricia and Judge couldn't handle him telling them they didn't know WTF they were doing when it came to trying to incorporate the Shanahan schemes. When he FINALLY was used ahead of Agholor, he produced.

I honestly thought that Bourne was going to be used far more in 2022 than he was in 2021. But Patricia went in the opposite direction and made Bourne an afterthought.

Parker is a solid 2 that can’t stay healthy. Bourne, I agree with you. A good WR that if given some playing time can produce. Thornton has yet to do anything, a lot of potential there. To me, that’s hot garbage. Parker is a jump ball guy that you hope will make those contested catches and come down right. Bourne will hopefully get more playing time and will definitely pick up the slack left by Myers, and maybe Thornton is going to get better? I hope he does, but as of right now, our receiving corps doesn’t have a consistent chain mover, it doesn’t have a consistent separator. I’m not worried about it. There’s still plenty of time left to add a few quality guys, but if that’s who we start our season with, be prepared to not finish strong.

don't understand why the bears are signing edwards and edmunds at LB. They need O-Line and Weapons a lot.
They just added DJ Moore as a weapon. You tie him in with Kmet, Mooney, Claypool, and Hebert, you have yourself a good foundation for the offense. It will be interesting to see if they let Montgomery go and make a move on someone like Harris, Sanders, or Jamaal Williams.
