Official 2022 Tompa Bay Gronkaneers Thread

I'll say it again. No athlete has ever been programmed like Brady. The guy is an assasin through and through. That is why you can never count his team out no matter how lopsided the talent equation is. He makes up the difference. And yes, he can still do it at age 45 especially if Jensen does play and is effective. Brady with time = win.

So I don't disagree with what you're saying, but goddamn everything we've seen this season I can't really see a way they make a run lol We shall see though

LOL. I know what you mean. It's been such a crap fest with the coaching and injuries. I feel like that last game vs Carolina with the playoffs on the line, when everything clicked on offense and Evans was actually engaged and played like a top receiver gave me some hope. I also think Brady lights that playoff fire under everyone.

I'm not worried about TB12
With Jensens return I hope there is some sign of life in the running game. Even if it's a small improvement that's how bad it's been

I want them to keep doing the hurry up and let Brady work the defense over.

Five times this season, against the Rams, Saints (twice), Cardinals and Panthers, Brady was forced to lead his team to victory with winning drives in the fourth quarter or overtime. There were two games that stood as the outliers: the season opener at Dallas, in which Leonard Fournette rushed for 127 yards, and against Seattle in Germany, when rookie Rachaad White rushed for 105 yards.

Privately, in production meetings with networks before games, Brady would complain about the Bucs’ poor effort in the run game, on third down and in the red zone. Publicly, he shouldered the extra burden on offense.

Christensen takes issue with anyone who says Brady isn’t willing to stand in the pocket and take a hit.

“I’d have to punch out anyone who said he looked scared in the pocket,” Christensen said. “I know people have said, ‘Yeah, he looks scared or his age showed because he threw the ball so quick.’ No! Because there were probably 45 sacks he avoided. If you’re an inexperienced quarterback, you take the sacks and the drives are over. If you think anything different, you don’t know football.”

In fact, Christensen said Brady, who wasn’t sure who was available to play in the final regular-season game at Atlanta, still wanted to go all four quarters.

“I think one of the more impressive things I’ve seen in the years I’ve known him is the final game at Atlanta,” Christensen said. “He’s mad because anybody would think he wouldn’t play and he’s mad they pull him out early and he’s mad other guys don’t want to play. That’s him in a nutshell.”

Tom Brady believes he can drag Bucs across finish line to another Super Bowl

Well you have to admire him but if he can drag them to the finish line this year it would maybe be his best postseason ever which is saying something.

Well said. If Tampa Bay keeps them close in these games until the fourth quarter, then watch out. Even this year, there have been at least two Bucs games I’ve watched that have just been unbelievably tense, where it’s not even my team, but you can just feel the incredible tension and high blood pressure. And when you have those feelings watching the game, that’s when you know Brady is at his best. While other people feel that tension, it sharpens the blade for him. It’s incredible.

If Brady somehow drags this bunch to a championship the ring should just be a diamond encrusted portrait of his face.

But playing it close in the 4th quarter like the Bucs have done all season is playing with fire and not sustainable over a four game playoff run.

They need to just go out and take control of the game and a get a big lead. Stop being so conservative.

Gonna be night and day when bucs offense doesn’t have WR running open like everyone else this weekend despite the takent

If Wirfs didn’t get hurt and AB psychologically held it together for two more months I have little doubt that the Bucs win the Super Bowl last year. Those two players not being there for the Rams game was everything. Wirfs on the line buys Brady a half second more and AB would be the quick strike receiver to go to when the Rams pressured.
Honestly they didn't even need AB, but losing Wirfs hurt them in the Rams game. They would have been easy favorites vs SF and Cincinnati

The WR room was devastated in the playoffs last year so I'll have to disagree with this. If they had AB they run through everyone with last years teams being as easy as it gets.

Yeah, I wasn’t recommending it as a strategy, just saying it’s possible to beat Brady, but pretty close to impossible if the game is close at the end. Honestly, I just don’t know how good the bucs are

Bucs did not announce any practice squad elevations, which lines up with the team's overall health. They'll have five inactives to announce around 6:45 p.m., but shouldn't be any major surprises there (likely Leverett and Rudolph, both listed as doubtful).

Everybody waits for Brady and “LFG” but for Bucs pregame rituals, the barefoot field walk — Cam Brate, Anthony Nelson, Ko Kieft — is vastly underrated.

Expected to play. Been limited and is questionable but I think he goes. Bucs are a top five run defense when both Vea and Akiem Hicks play.
