McDaniels took this guy in the fist round a few years ago and now TT makes the league minimum. Not to mention Mallet is gone after next year. I think there's a 75% chance he makes the squad.
Reiss didn't give any further information and I haven't found any from another source. Perhaps in his blog he will elaborate as the rookies can play a big role on the team this year.Any indication if he was lining up as a LB or a DE?
I'd love for Bill to screw us the way he has for the last 12 years :rocker:Collins better be a stud, don't screw us again BB.
Regarding Collins :
Doug Kyed @DougKyedNESN 52m
Jamie Collins was standing up at linebacker, swapping in with Brandon Spikes on D. Looks strong in coverage.

Jamie Collins looked really good out there. Seriously.

Here's a second for the opinion on Collins ::rocker: It's only day one of camp, but this is VERY good to read. I can't wait to see the kid play.

If Collins is swapping in with Spikes, does that mean he goes in at middle linebacker? Or does one of Mayo/Hightower shift?
Not sure why people are acting so surprised that Collins is good in coverage. Leading up to the draft, there were many reports that he was a solid cover guy. At Southern Miss he had 41 3rd-down stops against passes and 10 4th down stops against passes. Think people saw the sack numbers and instantly pigeonholed him as a pass rusher only.
That doesnt mean it would transfere to the pro game.
Alfonzo Dennard not with the Patriots' 1 in the base D. Comes on in nickel, plays in the base with second team for 7-on-7s.
I know it is way too early to read anything into this, but that would mean that Dowling is out with Talib on the outside as the starting corners, and Arrington is the backup/4th CB.
Looks like my initial suspicions about what the Patriots brought him in for (coverage specialist) early on are so far correct.
