Re: Official 2007 NFL Draft 1st Round Discussion

Yea, let's go for the most overrated player possible.

Posluzsny isn't the most over-rated player possible.

Re: Official 2007 NFL Draft 1st Round Discussion

How about Brady Quinn, since Arron Rodgers is a so called bust

Re: Official 2007 Patriots Draft Thread

The Jets gave up 25th, a second, and a fifth to move up to 14th, and get a sixth? Bad trade. I think Revis is the best of the two CB's and i have him rated as the best CB in the draft, but I almost think Leon Hall is who the Jets are going after.
Per profootballtalk's blog:
The trade chart favors the Jets on this one -- 1,115 points in value from Carolina versus 1,055 points in value from the Jets.

Re: Official 2007 NFL Draft 1st Round Discussion

What do you think of AJ Davis or Leon Hall? How about Meriweather?

Also does MacCauely have some kind of psychological problem since his concussion? I have heard he is much more tentative and not aggressive. Don't know if that gets fixed.

His lack of aggression was due to his team's poor play I think, he admitted to getting down when the team wasn't competing, and got benched for it. His physical skills are fantastic though, and on a winning squad, I think he'll be fine. He has the best hips in the draft.

Hall I think will be a better safety, he struggles against top receivers for a reason, namely his lack of burst and explosion. Merriweather is awesome, one of my favorite guys in the draft, but the head stomping thing worries me. Not that he'll be Pacman Jones off the field, but that he'll lose his cool and pick up stupid penalties and give up big plays by being overaggressive. On pure skill though, he might be the best safety in the draft, with his ability to slide over and cover like a corner, in the slot or outside. Davis is too slow to be a top guy, but he might make a decent slot corner.

I'll say this, Quinn has the poise.

WOW. McCauley is a head case. This garbage that he got down because the team wasn't doing good and that is why he was benched is a MAJOR red flag.

As for Hall, I suggest you do some more research or, better yet, talk to MichiganDave, who watched every Michigan game. Your analysis of Hall is off. Hall didn't do badly against top receivers. Heck, he didn't face many of the top receivers. Yes, they played against one another, but Hall wasn't always lined up opposite them.

Re: Official 2007 NFL Draft 1st Round Discussion

Justin Harrel to Green Bay....

Re: Official 2007 NFL Draft 1st Round Discussion

BPA here followed by Branch/Hall/Houston

Re: Official 2007 NFL Draft 1st Round Discussion

Brady Quinn is falling,I am surprised

Re: Official 2007 NFL Draft 1st Round Discussion

I wonder if Jacksonville tries to trade down or if they take Quinn...

They could be looking at Nelson for safety since they lost Deon Grant.

Re: Official 2007 NFL Draft 1st Round Discussion

This is great. All the guys I didn't want the pats to get are being drafted. Plus the pats haven't traded up.

I wonder if they trade down from 24 and pick up a mid second and mid third or so? They would be gambling that Harris would be there at #28.

On the other hand, I think or though that Maybe the Harris thing is disinformation. He sounds good for them, but it's odd that they let it get out that they are so interested.

Maybe Meriweather at #28 and Bradley in the late 2nd. Then two thirds for GAttis and someone else.

Re: Official 2007 Patriots Draft Thread

That was a surprise. He's one of the Linemen I thought NE would pick if he was there. This also keeps Alan Branch on the fall I predicted. It's actually starting to look like a lot of the players We've all been talking about for NE are going to be there.

I watched quite a few of the Michigan games, and when he was asked to go out on an island, he struggled. Granted, that wasn't often, but it still happened. And yeah, the thing with McCauley is a red flag, the difference is, you're not spending the 14th pick to get him, you can probably snag him in the second.

Re: Official 2007 NFL Draft 1st Round Discussion

Hall and Quinn still falling... Linebackers are disappearing, I think Pats won't have any good ones available in RD 1.

how about branch falling..he was a top 13 pick..

Re: Official 2007 NFL Draft 1st Round Discussion

I'm amazed the Jaguars haven't raced to the podium with Nelson's name yet.

Re: Official 2007 Patriots Draft Thread

Jaguars:

Reggie Nelson
Olson
Quinn

I'm going Reggie Nelson (they took him out to fancy restuarants, and they are the only team with more Florida players than NE.)
