Noisy Jets gone, Pats next for Miami Dolphins - Miami Dolphins - MiamiHerald.com

some great lines

Ryan, evidently in the buffet line for seconds when God was handing out grace, said after Miami's 30-25 victory Sunday that his losing team had ``totally outplayed'' the Dolphins. (Rex takes the ``cl'' out of ``class.'')
Dear Sore-Loser Jets: You didn't ``deserve'' to win Sunday, because the final arbiter said you didn't. It is called a scoreboard.

In contrast to the whiny Jets left behind, Sparano and staff prepare this week for an opponent and an opposing coach who have earned their respect by accomplishment. The Patriots' swagger is borne of actions. The Jets' swagger is all empty noise, like a teacup poodle trying to bark ferociously. (The New York Pets.)

I can see if we lost in the same manner BB saying something like "obviously were dissapointed, any time you lose like this it means we didn't prepare well enough" "you just have to tip your hate to them (Miami) they played better in all phases of the game, they were better prepared than we were"
EL Gordo (fat man ) Rexy and the rest of the jests "sh!t in their own nest" as my mother would say.

The jests have put day glow bulls eye on their backs by so thoroughly dissrespecting their opponents.

I used to hate the Pats with a greater passion than the Jets. But what that team has become after their fans garned some unwarranted arrogance with Favre to now become the trash talking, mediocre thug bunch of the NFL, sweeping them is so incredibly gratifying.

The Patriots have at least won something. The Jets haven't won anything.

That said, this Sunday's game is HUGE in terms of division implifications. A Dolphins win and we're right there in the driver's seat.

AQ how are you.... i don't know about the fins being in the drivers seat but at least we don't have to deal with trash talking slime until next week.

hmmmm....

if u guys win this game next week, it would be really uplifting for the phins, and a real downer for the pats....

u would be 4-0 in the division, quite spectacular

but not in the driver's seat.....ppl like to forget, but conf and div records only count in tiebrakers, and i do not see the phins at the end of the year being tied in OVERALL record w/ the pats.....

Anybody out here who is looking ahead to Indy and has Sunday's game in the "W" column before it's played is delusional. It's going to take 60 minutes of football to get this win.

Getting a tiebreaker advantage is just like getting a game advantage in the win column. If all we have to do is tie you, it's just one less game we have to win to get to the post-season.

Not to mention that if you can hang losses on your divisional opponents, it only helps you make up ground at twice the rate. Division games are make or break in this league.

You're still not in the driver's seat.

The Patriots are in the drivers seat. However, the road to the division title goes through Miami. Championships always go through whoever is defending it during the season, until the next division winner is crowned.

Hoping for a great, fun game to watch, and hoping the Dolphins have a good game against the Patriots regardless of W/L-these two teams usually have good games.
Fins fans-Is it just me or has playing the Loudmouth Jets twice in the last 20 days put all your hate into them again? I don't have it for the Pats this week-prob for the SNF game though.

A Dolphins win and the Dolphins are still a game behind in the standings, tied at 4-4 with the Jets but in second place because of the head-to-head matchups. No matter how this weekend's game ends up, the Patriots will still be in the AFCE driver's seat.

How about this compromise: if the Dolphins win, the division title is still very much in play. If the Patriots win, every AFCE team not called the Patriots is seriously on the ropes.

The Dolphins have a very favorable schedule from here on out. Of their 9 remaining games, I see only 3 really tough opponents -- Pittsburgh and the 2 Pats games. But if they lose this week, that leaves them in a hole that's probably too deep to climb out of. They could close out the season 7-1 and still end up multiple games back.

Personally i'm hoping we see lots of Wildcat from the Dolphins.

Its such a slow devloping play, that any defense with reasonable speed can read, react and shut it down.

Ronnie Brown and Ricky Williams would be far more dangerous if they just stuck with the regular running game.

Chad Henne made some truly bone headed decisions under pressure - when he seen the blitz coming he tried to make some sort of pre-snap audible - the resuly of which had him sprinting backwards and sideways while trying to throw against the motion of his body.

He did that type of thing more than once.

He looks decent enough if you let hiom stand there and pick his passes - but if we can move him - especially to his left then its hard to imagine him making any type of play.

The Dolphins coaches should get alot of praise for doing alot with so little talent - no talent at WR whatsoever, and not impressive in the DB's either.

Its hard to see a way Miami can win this (yes, I know we always lose games we shouldn't against them) - the Patriots will shut the run down and concentrate on moving Henne from the pocket.

Maybe they'll even avoid kicking it to Ginn.

Maybe Freud was onto something after all?

Could be, or it could be that i didn't check before i hit submit. Buts whats more likely is that i did look at it and hit submit anyways, after all i do despise the jets.

...scratch all that, the more i think about it i think your right. I know i can't spell but i'm not usually THAT bad.

I'd add Houston to the tough column and potentially @ Tennessee if they are snapping out of their funk. Jekyl and Hyde Buffalo in the winter with a crowned field could also be a challenge for a rookie QB...

True, they're not all gimmes by any means. But that just makes it all the clearer: for Miami to have any playoff hopes at all, they MUST win at Gillette.

I'm not really seeing Miami winning this game. I'm well aware that they will probably pull a few new wrinkles out for us in the Wildcat then they have before, but I don't think it's going to be capable of beating the Pats. We have two weeks to prepare for it with successful blueprints on stopping it provided by the Dolphins' last two opponents. On top of that, I'm not quite sure their secondary can stop our air attack.

I think Miami will take one from the Pats this season. I just happen to think that it will be in Miami five weeks from now.

I've been worried about the Wildcat, but even the Jests did pretty well against that. They just forgot to practice on special teams . We were surprised by the wildcat last year, but now there is plenty of film on it. I agree with the poster who said it now (without the element of surprise) is slow to develop. The last few times I've watched Miami play, they are so busy running people on and off the field and in and out of formations, their young QB looks confused. Maybe the Pats should surprise them with a Wildcat D, running people all over the place all the time.

I am really looking forward to this game. If we win (and we should, fingers crossed) we will be in good shape for a tough stretch for the remainder of Nov.

How are we going to keep Jason Taylor away from TB? Is Matt Light coming back this week? We usually have a pretty good game plan coming off a bye and I am looking forward to seeing what it is!

I think that if the Pats O-line can give Brady good protection, he will have a field day with their secondary, but Brady needs to avoid Jason Taylor. If they can stop the wildcat, and limit mistakes, and take care of business, they should win this game. Belichick had 2 weeks to prepare, so let's hope it pays off on Sunday.

The Dolphins always give this Pats team fits, so this will be a tough game.

We're not even half way through the season. It is a bit early to think of being in control of the division. HOWEVER,

If the fins win their remaining games, they are AFCE champs; ditto for the patriots. The jets could win out and still be beaten for the division title by the fins or the pats.
