No HOF for Kraft again

"They’ve also ranked dead last in cash spending over the last 10 years, according to ESPN’s Mike Reiss.

Capt. Orchid's Deflate-gate treachery poisoned any chance that I would support him for HOF. I find it sweet karma that the ones he sought to suck up to are the ones blackballing him now.

What an uninformed post! He's had his hand in TV contracts and has been instrumental in keeping peace with the players' union
That is so overblown. If Kraft wasn’t involved, someone else would have stepped up and those TV and CBA deals still would have been agreed upon. The interested parties all had too much at stake to not come to an agreement. Regardless, those factors alone should not get him into the hall.

With rare exceptions (JJ should not have been one of those exceptions), I don't believe that owners should be in the Hall of Fame. Kraft made a couple of great head coaching hires and was fortunate that one of those coaches drafted the GOAT QB. He should just be thankful for the championships that Tom and Bill gifted him and for the 25+ fold return on his initial investment.

Go into your massive home theatre room and play your propaganda film ‘Dynasty’ on repeat, Bobby. Watching you portray yourself as an infallible hero while you stab Bill in the back numerous times will surely make you feel better. Don’t forget a box of tissues, though, just in case.

Even Kraft's wildest detractors would be hard pressed to call his philanthropy into question. The Kraft foundation has donated hundreds of millions to a variety of causes primarily but not limited to the areas of women and children's health and education. Kraft is well known as one of New England's most generous philanthropists. It's not just the big flash of cash either but practical things as well, the use of the Pats planes is routinely donated to deserving causes big and small. Hell, they were used to fly in masks for healthcare providers when Covid was overwhelming hospitals. How are you not aware of this?
Did not know all that, so thank! Having moved from MA to FL I never was able to see or hear about what he has done. All I ever saw was the stuff with his wife. Totally forgot about the planes too.

TV contracts......I think this is ridiculous. I am not the biggest RK fan, but he deserves to get in. I suspect this is payback for 6 rings, Spygate and ball tampering.....jealousy
No doubt it’s revenge and jealousy.

Ya if Mr. Collective Good of the 32 has to wait a long while for his induction then so be it.

Funny how Al Davis head butting with the league still got him to Canton and Kraft’s ass kissing hasn’t.

Mr.Kraft has also, put his money where his mouth is in responding to growing anti-semitism by spending millions on a "stop Jewish Hate" campaign including $7 million for an ad that ran during last year's Super Bowl. He is also a supporter of Israel which could have worked against his candidacy. I'm not saying it did or didn't but it would be naive to ignore the possibility that some voters who might be more sympathetic to the Palestinians used it against him. I know Ian tries to keep politics out of the forum but I am just raising the possibility, not waving the bloody flag that it was a factor, maybe not the major one. I'm sure Orchids didn't help as well.

FWIW, I gave that landmine a wide berth for a reason

If any owner deserves to get in its Kraft.
Agreed. It would be disingenuous for anybody to argue otherwise, for comparisons others have pointed out (Jones, DeBartolo, Bowlen).

Saved football in New England
Perhaps others outside New England don't care.
Owners enjoy letting cities fall over each other, outbidding each other with sweetheart stadium deals, competing for a new team.
It's more free money for them to split.
Then they could have had Boston compete with another city for a new franchise ... and with it, a new franchise fee to be split 31 ways.

TV contracts
True - but perhaps the other 31 greedily wanted/expected even more?

helped settle the league/players union deal
While that should be a positive for RKK's case, there are/were many hard line owners that didn't want to budge.
They actually disliked the deal and wanted to force the NFLPA to cave, unwilling to compromise.

and his team is the greatest dynasty the league has seen.
Again, this SHOULD be another part of a strong case for RKK.
But the other 31 are jealous/envious and dislike him for the same reason fans of the Steelers, Colts, Jets, etc. dislike the Patriots.

Don't get me wrong, I agree that all your points are quite valid - as a fan of pro football.
But these owners are not looking at it that way; they are seeing things through a lens that is strictly all about themselves.

Obviously hanging out at the Orchids of Asia Day Spa has consequences

I wonder how many owners, negotiating stadium deals with their cities and/or states, have had

"Kraft didn't need a subsidy for his stadium. Why should we pay for yours?"

thrown at them and how much they resent him putting them in this spot.

“The Bob Kraft documentary Dynasty” has backfired on Bob. Had he kept his mouth shut, we’d be under the assumption that he was on board with Bill and trusted him during the controversial Bledsoe benching in favor of Brady. He was on the verge of firing Bill had they missed the playoffs in 2001. Then he had the nerve to say he was the reason for the Dynasty. I turned that **** off after like 3-4 episodes.

All the Dynasty showed was an Owner who continually threw his coach under the bus and Tom and Bill won in spite of him.

He’ll get in eventually, but it will be a while.

Al Davis was commissioner and an influence on the merger. He introduced the vertical pass. His HOF induction was deserved.

Kraft hired Bill. Give him credit. And I doubt he had a big say on drafting Brady. Belichick deserves the credit for that. And bringing Brady along.

I thought Davis was opposed to the merger. He wasn't NFL commish but he might have been AFL. I thought it was Ralph Wilson in Buffalo that made the merger happen. Wilson also bailed out the Raiders and Patriots from financial trouble IIRC

Also without Parcells BB isn't in NE.

Good. Juniper Florida did him in with the owners and anyone with the NFL.

Here are some new cheap places for cheap Bob. He wouldn't even hire a private session in his room. Mr. Cheapo. Where are the WRs?

“For the collective good of the 32”… if I’m a NE voter I make Kraft wait a while for a HOF induction just for that. Despicable that he couldn’t stand up for the man that made his football team one of the greatest dynasties in sports.
Man?

Men!

Kraft made it an art form.

If Kraft was insisting on drafting Maye, then he should admit his stupidity in hiring an unqualified HC, and turn the operation over to a strong HC/GM and let them drive the bus, and GTF out of the way!

Kraft can THEN rightfully claim to be integral to the next dynasty.

But we all know who is responsible for their first dynasty.

I think the concept of owners in the HOF is a bit iffy to begin with, but with that being a category I don't see how Kraft wouldn't meet the criteria.

That is just not true. Belichick has handled himself with a lot of class inspite of RK putting him down at every turn. Just because he has made some remarks recently on how the team is playing etc does not mean that he has not handled himself with class. He is in the media now, so it is his job to comment. I guarantee that if Brady was not a minority owner of the Raiders he would have had some comments. He is not allowed to comment negatively about any team so he keeps quiet. That was part of his deal when he was approved for a stake in the Raiders.
I'm including the CAM Newton and Mac jones yrs
