If any owner deserves to get in its Kraft.
Agreed. It would be disingenuous for anybody to argue otherwise, for comparisons others have pointed out (Jones, DeBartolo, Bowlen).
Saved football in New England
Perhaps others outside New England don't care.
Owners enjoy letting cities fall over each other, outbidding each other with sweetheart stadium deals, competing for a new team.
It's more free money for them to split.
Then they could have had Boston compete with another city for a new franchise ... and with it, a new franchise fee to be split 31 ways.
True - but perhaps the other 31 greedily wanted/expected even more?
helped settle the league/players union deal
While that
should be a positive for RKK's case, there are/were many hard line owners that didn't want to budge.
They actually disliked the deal and wanted to force the NFLPA to cave, unwilling to compromise.
and his team is the greatest dynasty the league has seen.
Again, this SHOULD be another part of a strong case for RKK.
But the other 31 are jealous/envious and dislike him for the same reason fans of the Steelers, Colts, Jets, etc. dislike the Patriots.
Don't get me wrong, I agree that all your points are quite valid - as a fan of pro football.
But these owners are not looking at it that way; they are seeing things through a lens that is strictly all about themselves.
