Deadrick was known as a decent player with tons of untapped talent and a bad habit of riding his talent instead of working to develop it. That was the primary reason he fell in the draft, he loafed. His toughness, his off-field issues, they were recognized, but had little influence on where he was taken, he did to himself.
Now that he's in New England, he's getting a new perspective. Note that his locker is between Vince and Gerard, the two senior veterans on defense, that is not by accident. You have Gerard who has been kicked around the League in a mediocre career after getting drafted #3 overall - he's got a tale to tell. And you've got Vince, drafted #21 overall, Super Bowl ring, big new shiny contract, and he's got a tale to tell. I'm glad to see Deadrick soaking up the wisdom and the work ethic.
I continue to hope Brace is nicked up somehow and will start getting playing time again. I also hope to see Love get some reps going forward.
