If Tampa doesn’t make any coaching changes they’re all in for a top 10 or better pick. No other reason you would keep a 100% inept coaching staff around.

The Bucs spent a lot of money to keep the band together to make one last run with Brady and they are downright mediocre. This is the danger of going all in when you think you are close to a Super Bowl ring. This strategy worked out for the Rams last year, but it can blow up in your face like it appears with the Bucs this year.

Next year, Brady will be gone from the Bucs even if he continues to play. And the Bucs are going to be in rebuild mode with a lot of expensive pieces they probably don't want. They are currently $40 million over the expected cap in 2023 with no starting QB (but they do have a starting QB dead cap hit with $35 million for Brady). I am sure they can manipulate the cap, but this will make their rebuilding process a lot harder.

Brady’s got this. Seen how this story ends too many times when everyone is doubting him.

And of course a Bucs win helps us in the standings.
Hmm, not quite so fast

Brady is now 3-5. But 8-9 may be good enough to win that division.

Gronk coming back?
I doubt he's coming back to a 3-5 team that is struggling, maybe if they were 7-1 or 6-2, but why come back to get beat up when the team isn't that good. They do miss him on offense though, both running the ball and throwing it.

Bucs in 8 games have scored less than the Pats have in 7 games. and the Pats have had turnover issues, their starter QB being meh and then injured and had to play a rookie 3.5 games.

I know they didn't have equal schedules but they had 3 common opponents so far

Steelers- Bucs scored 18 Pats scored 17
Packers- Bucs scored 12 (at home) Pats scored 24 (in Lambeau with a rookie in his 1st game)
Ravens- Bucs scored 22 (with 1 turnover) Pats scored 26 (with 5 turnovers)

if you think the offense situation is bad in NE, TB's is much much worse given who their QB is and the pieces around him.

Belichick looking pretty smart on that Shaq Mason trade btw.

Would love to see it but I don’t see it happening.

I thought Tommy was going to snap his fingers and Gronk would show up…

That cant be true, I've been told that the "Cap Is Crap"

The cap for the next few years will basically be crap. The Bucs will be able to maneuver a lot of this money. They will be able to get under the cap and make some moves, but it will be harder.

But once the market corrections take place and all or most of the salaries on most team's rosters reflect the expanding cap from the new broadcast deals, the cap will mean a heck of a lot more than it will for the next few years.

I mean if he can contribute

well he is well rested

I mean if he can contribute, maybe that will put them over the hump, I think they can use any help on offense they can get now, they should be 5-3, not vice versa

Great to see the Bucs implode. It's truly the curse of Gisele. Brady made a stupid egomaniacal decision to return, at the expense of his family, and it cost him and their team. His focus isn't fully on the team, that was clear since OTA's and training camp. I know he has too much pride to retire midseason, but I think it's going to be a miserable end for him in Tampa. But in a few years this will all be forgotten news, and he can resurface as the HOFer from the Patriots.

I think Gronk would come back for a playoff run. If it looks good that the Bucs would get in in early December or late November, he would probably come back. Otherwise, I seriously doubt it.

The scary thing, even at 3-5 they could still win the division. The NFC South is looking like it will be won by a team with a losing record. Worst division in football.

Yeah I would have let Brady sneak it there if they were hell bent on running it. 13 rushes vs 44 passing attempts. That’s terrible. I’d be surprised if Leftwich isn’t out of a job tomorrow.
I remember when posters wanted him to replace Josh and thought he was HC material.

Are we still going to do the “sign the beast” thing with Devin White when he’s a free agent in a year and a half or (more likely) on the trade block next offseason? He’s had plenty of other bad games like this, but this is the first time I remember the announcers calling attention to his awful play. The Bucs would have been significantly better off with Tavai last night.

It worked out for the Bucs 2 years ago since they also won a SB just like the Rams. We have to face the fact it's the new model. The Bills are doing it this year as are others. Bills are also over the cap in '23. If a team wins a SB using this model, pretty sure both the Owners and fans will think it was worth it. Being conservative with the cap by avoiding the signing of top end talent is fine unless you end up at the bottom of the division like the Pats. I doubt the owners and fans are happy with that outcome.
