NFL GAME DAY DISCUSSION NFL Week 12 Other Games (including Thanksgiving non-Patriots)

San Fran may be one of the two best team in the NFC right now. Imagine if they didn't use three first round picks on Trey Lance how good they could be. The Dolphins got Waddle, Hill, and Chubb with the picks they got from San Francisco. Sure the 49ers wouldn't have acquired two more WRs when they have Samuel. But they could have drafted Micha Parsons and still traded for Hill and Chubb. You built a team like this around Garoppolo and he can be a top QB in the league (see Tua and Jalen Hurts).

Hindsight is 20/20, but Trey Lance looks to be a wasted pick while they could easily be the best team in the NFC or possibly even the NFL if they kept their picks and built around Garoppolo.

Now it is all or nothing now because Garoppolo is going to leave next year and they are pretty much committed to make Trey Lance work.

C'mon, even in this down year, the Jags are not going to the playoffs. They are probably have to run the table to get in and they aren't going to run the table. Yes, technically they are in the playoff hunt, but in reality, they are done.
Yes, according to the common fan they are done. That’s definitely not what the team tbe is thinking and it’s definitely not what Pedersen is telling them. They’re approaching post-Bye like it’s a completely new season. If you’re using that as the basis for why Pedersen went for two, when he has a very long history of coaching aggressively, then the argument doesn’t hold water. They’re 4-7, not 0-11. He went for two because the crowd was fired up, their offense was in a rhythm, and their defense was gassed. That’s about it.

Garoppolo is having his best season but 1) he's not short on weapons and 2) he's not Jalen Hurts.

SF has two excellent WRs in Samuel and Aiyuk... who many teams in the NFL have a better duo? They've got an elite TE in Kittle. And their running game is outstanding with McCaffrey and Wilson. And a great OL. There's not a better situation for another quarterback in the NFL.

I'm voting Mahomes for league MVP but there's a very strong case to be made for Hurts. He's got 25 TDs and only 5 turnovers. Mahomes has 30 TDs and 8 turnovers. Hurts has the Eagles looking like a legitimate SB contender.

Tua also is having a tremendous season. Purely as a passer too, he's not running the ball at all. Miami has a huge test this weekend @SF. If they win that one then they will become the favorite to win the AFC East... who saw that coming?

If you watch Tua, he is making a lot of shorter safer throws and allowing Hill and Waddle to make plays after the catch. He is a perfect example of a team putting the right weapons around the QB and developing a system that plays to his strengths. They aren't asking for Tua to throw an unusual amount of 50-50 balls down the field. Matt Patricia should be studying Tua's game film rather than Jones' and trying to duplicate that here. Both Bourne and Stevenson are great run after the catch guys (at least Bourne was last year).

Hell, you can say the same thing about the 49ers with Jimmy G and Philly with Hurts. Both teams have at least two receivers in the top 20 in YAC. San Fran actually has two in the top 10.

In other words Tua's a good dinker-and-dunker...it's all NE's offense needs.

Tua is 2nd in the NFL in Intended Air Yards per pass attempt (average depth of target) and 3rd in Completed Air Yards (total yards completed passes travel in the air past the line of scrimmage before being caught). Tua is throwing downfield and with accuracy. He's also 24th among QBs in YAC and 31st in pass yards after catch per completion. Garoppolo gets the best pass yards after catch per completion from his receivers (7 yards to 4.5 yards for Tua). Mahomes leads the NFL in YAC help by a wide margin.

Love reading the Bucs forum, where they are putting the blame on Bowles and not Brady LMAO...

@sb1 thinks the Bucs are going to go on a magical superbowl run if Ryan Jensen comes back lol

And right on cue... I pull your strings and you dance for me :)

The only people dancing are the Cleveland Browns...

And Ryan Jensen is not the issue.

I thought this was pretty funny: After a Derek Carr interception against Seattle, one of the players on the bench(#52) for the Seahawks decides to come on the field and block. I am guessing he didn't know the rules and thought he could just come on the field anytime he wanted to. Wouldn't you know it, the refs didn't even notice it. Maybe we should try it one time.

it looks like he thought the play was over and went to celebrate with his teammates lol

He ends up throwing a pretty good block though. Just a strange play.

Any lip readers who can tell us what Mike Purcell screamed at Russell Wilson?

Seriously did you watch the game or are you just talking sh*t again? 17 points isn't good enough, Brady needs to do more for the Bucs to win more consistently. Whatever. WTF is Bowles thinking in not using the timeouts at the end of regulation in that game? Egregiously incompetent time management by a head coach... about as bad as I've ever seen.

It was a futile attempt to fire up Wilson. Denver's gotten themselves into a real mess with that Wilson contract.

It’s a large part of the issue.
