Well I like predictions more when based on more information. It's a lot easier to predict something after each team has played 17 games and we know whose in the playoffs. This is obviously a knee jerk reaction. But also based on my preseason speculation. I thought before the season the Rams would probably regress a bit. And it looks like they are. I thought the Bills would be the team to beat in the AFC and it looks like they will. But like I said. I think Denver has a chance to knock them off. I don't really trust the Bengals to get it together. This was more about how their D looked and if it would work. Ds don't usually just stop working.
As for my comment on the Bucs. Process of elimination. I know a lot has been made of GB's defense, but we live in an offensive world now, and there are no shut down Ds left, and good offenses find a way to score against everyone if they are championship caliber typically. We may have the single odd game where scoring is low, but that is the exception and not the rule.
Teams rarely come out of nowhere these days like the 2001 Patriots did as offense takes more than 1 season to establish typically. And like I said, it's an offensive game these days. So really only 12 teams come in with a chance anyway. And we just saw 2 in the top 4-6 play that added credence to some ideas i already had. I don't feel like I need to see the likes of the Giants, Jags or Texans play to make a judgement among a much smaller pool of real contenders.
