So you wouldn't consider Buffalo the favorites right now ? I pointed out it's a long season and plenty can change. But they came into the season looking like the best team to me and tonight has done nothing to disprove it.

It's completely meaningless. I don't know who the favorite is and it doesn't matter ... it's very truly meaningless. Buffalo looks like a good team, but there are several others. Did we think Buffalo were favorites last season? Or as good as they appear now? Probably not, which is to say that how things have been in the past (which is the only way we judge the present/future) does not always continue to stay the same.

I just can't articulate how empty and hollow it is to draw any conclusions now. We lack so much data about the competition, team/season evolution, injuries, so forth. Again, to reiterate, we've played less than one full game, in a season that will see 272 total regular season games played.

If everything stayed the same, nothing changed, then yes, Buffalo would be considered one of the favorites at this exact point in time. But, things change over time, particularly in sports/athletics, so there will never be a static/fixed trajectory. It's twofold IMO: 1.) Playing really well in September doesn't really mean a thing (besides seeding/standings), 2.) We know teams will see their performance change/fluctuate/evolve over the course of a season for a variety of reasons.

Buffalo appears to be a very good team, yes. It is not a certainty that they will still be very good in several months, and even if they are, I am not convinced that the Patriots (or others) cannot compete with them.

Just bums me out to see people writing off the season based on tonight's game. Yes, we're not the ones playing, but imagine if the Patriots (or other NFL teams) had this despondent, 'throw in the towel' reaction based on watching other teams perform well. Hell no. They want to play the best and beat the best. Bring on the competition.

Bills spotted the Rams FOUR turnovers, and still won by 3 touchdowns.

Narrator: The answer was yes.

I told someone on this forum last week that if 13 seconds didn’t happen, the Bills would have won the Super Bowl. This is about how I think that game would have gone.

13 seconds did happen. Wide right did happen. Something bildo will always happen.

Life has shown me there are three irrefutable truths:

1. There will always be urine on a public bathroom toilet seat when you have to take a shyt.
2. A clear conscience is merely a sign of a bad memory.
3. Bills do not win Super Bowls.

No telling what this year's "13 seconds" will be. But it WILL be.

I'm not writing anything off man. But when a team who's already established as a strong favorite comes out and hands the defending champs a 21 point drubbing you gotta give credit where it's due. Right now they're the team to beat IMO . We'll have our shot at em though.

I'm not saying the seasons over....just acknowledging that the Bills are a elite team

If they're still elite in December/January, good for them. But how often have we seen things shift, dramatically, from September to December?

I'm not saying the Bills suck now, nor am I saying that they will suck in a few months. But I will not use the regular season opener in September to conclude they'll definitely be a really good team over the entirety of the season, or that we (or others) cannot compete with them.

Josh Allen looks like an unstoppable force if healthy.

1. Rocket arm
2. Strong as a bull
3. Getting smarter with his reads
4. Gutsy and fearless
5. Likable guy who initiates physical contact

This game furthers confidence in the above conclusions. Bills have elite QB, elite receivers, elite defense, great coaching and GM....pretty good recipe for a SB win. Sadly Pats will not be competitive with them consistently for at least 3 years

Rams play calling was too many longer developing plays(looked it anyway), Josh was getting rid of the ball quick to neutralize Donald and his pals.

Think you're overthinking it, my dude. No one's selling our team short here, just acknowledging a really good bills team last year seemingly is still strong, maybe better.

Only one game, they impressed, but no one else has played so yeah.... it's a long season. Lots to be written.

My God I had to shut that off, listening to the CC Gurgling was making me sick.

I see your point, but IMO it's equivalent to raving about how great the Thanksgiving dinner is ... in August. Meaningless.

On the road as well the hate is strong with that one

The early 80's were pretty much an extension of the 70's. Put a moustache on that face, and I see 70's porn star.
