The NFL is a tough luck loser in trying to get competitive games on in primetime.
When looking at the Thursday, Sunday, and Monday night games over the past three weeks (which is 8 games altogether b/c tonight's Monday Night game has yet to be played), 7 of the 8 have had meaningless fourth quarters.
Only the Bears 27-19 victory over the Jets in week 3 was the only single digit point differential over the past few weeks. In fact, for these 8 games the average margin of victory is 25.6 points. Here are the games.........
WEEK 3
THURS: Falcons over Bucs, 56-14
SUN: Steelers over Panthers, 37-19
MON: Bears over Jets, 27-19
WEEK 4
THURS: Giants over Redskins, 45-14
SUN: Cowboys over Saints, 38-17
MON: Chiefs over Pats, 41-14
Week 5
THURS: Packers over Vikes, 42-10
SUN: Pats over Bengals: 43-17
MON: ????????
