NFL Playoff Discussion (Other Teams)

Disagree on Hebert. I thought he was a better quarterback than he is, and although I'm sure he is better than he showed last night he simply does not possess the fire or will to win that you need to win championships in the NFL. I could be mistaken, it could be that he was doing heroin on the bench between series, but the look on his face throughout the game, and the complete lack of energy he displayed was that of someone who had just gotten a pre frontal lobotomy. At no point did I see him interact with even one other player on the sideline, he just sat there staring blankly into space for the entire game. Or maybe, as Dan Kelley says, Hebert is the best quarterback in the NFL, and I'm just missing it,
What separates Herbert from most QBs is his toughness. There is no other QB in the league more willing to hold the ball and take a hit until he finds a receiver. He's got a lot of guts, he's big, he's tough. I'm not comparing his style to Ben Roethlisberger, but he's tough like Ben.

He needs a lot of help with OC and a lot of help with OL. Only then will I judge him.

I could be all wrong about this and he could be a dunderhead who can't read defenses, but you can't judge him off last night.

When I watched him a few years ago, he reminded me of a young Steve Grogan, except he could throw accurately.

A bit too early, but for discussion’s sake:

Denver is a tough environment due to the altitude, but as a team, they can certainly be had…as we’ve seen. Denver struggles against creative zone looks that confuse Nix. They can’t run the ball at the moment (although they may get Dobbins back). On defense they have a great pass defense but can get gashed on the ground, and are susceptible to pass catchers at RB and TE as well; our specialty. If we can block Bonitto, Allen & Cooper, we should thrive. Denver is good, but they are small in their front seven. We can beat them up in the run game & gash them with play action. I believe Dre Greenlaw is back from injury, which should benefit them. We just can’t turn the ball over against that secondary which is very good. Their OL/Payton’s knowledge & juicy fruit is the strength of the offense, as they’ve allowed the least (or second least) amount of sacks this year. Pressuring Nix is key. There is no one I fear on that offense at all; pretty mediocre at best. They do have some speed with Franklin & Mims.

Are we sure we’d rather see Buffalo & Allen instead of Denver?? Denver seems kinda overrated…

Sounds like Bills WR Gabe Davis is done for the season.

"“Bills WR Gabe Davis will have an MRI today, but his knee is so swollen that doing an initial diagnosis was a challenge. Does not look good for the rest of the playoffs,” Rapoport reported."

Couple years ago I lusted after Herbo as a QB. Couple more years pass and he seems to me as a guy lacking the intangibles. Personal drive and leadership. Also missed on his long throws last night. I agree that he lacks supporting cast, OL and coaching.
And this is as good as he's had in the pros so far.

Obviously, that Houston defense will give Rodgers issues, but Pittsburgh could definitely make Stroud uncomfortable as well. While their defense isn’t ranked particularly high statistically, they still have a bunch of playmakers/ solid players that aren’t anything to snooze at. They’re also very good at turnovers (5th) & in the RZ (3rd)…

-Watt (Self explanatory…returning from collapsed lung)
-Heyward (Older but still 2nd team All-Pro)
-Harmon (excellent young player who’d I love here)
-Benton (same)
-Queen (solid LB with speed)
-Wilson (PIT’s best LB this year)
-Herbig (7.5 sacks..solid vet)
-Highsmth (self explanatory)
-Porter Jr (very good CB if he eliminates flags)
-Ramsey (self explanatory if he can get his head out of his ass & deflect the ball instead of always going for the INT; which has cost his teams in the past)

Then you have depth guys like Peppers & Dugger who are solid, if not spectacular veterans. Pittsburgh should give Houston a run for their money.

Ok but...I don't get this comment. Someone enlighten me.

Isn't the entire point about playing at elevation about acclimating to thinner air?

You can't remember your way to being used to having to suck more air for the same amount of O2 ffs...

I was in the military my dumbass can't remember its way to me running 2 miles in under 15 minutes.

Yes please

Don't let Buffalo get him please.

I'm arguably been the biggest Bills hater since their re-emergence in 2020, but I think they are going to beat Denver next weekend. Allen has that Elway 1997 in him where they've had enough. If a team can't put them away early, they are going to lose.

If SF had Kittle, I'd pick them over Seattle. They just have way too many damn injuries. They'll put up another fight and it will be decided late in the game.

I don't any part in Houston. Both teams have pass rushers than can wreck games, but I have PTSD from what Houston did to Josh Allen on MNF. That is what they are capable of.

Rams should take care of the Bears.

Yeah, you lose the "altitude advantage" after a week or two, so the fact that Josh Allen played in Wyoming several years ago has zero bearing on his ability to handle elevation this weekend.

I got to enjoy the inverse experience of going to high elevation to having a PT test at Fort Bragg. Ran that 2-miler in under 12 minutes...the only time ever lol

Yes sir - Bills go take care of Denver

Steelers take care of Houston

Pats take care of Steelers then Bills to head to the Super Bowl

Dude is a menace. He needs to be put away early in any game from here on out..

Not too look past Pitt/Hou... but i am going to just to play the 'suppose game' for a bit.

theoretically who would want? Bills at home or @ Broncos?

I know Josh Allen is kind of scary and can just take over a game. But we should be able to run on them and our ability to stop their run game should be better.

But Denver is a tough place to play at and that D is good. But i don't really fear Bo Nix or their offense as a whole. I think 20 points might be all we need if the D comes to play.
To me its a no brainer...I want the Bills. We should have swept them. We know who they are and what they can do. I think healthy we can handle them. Josh Allen only has so many horseshoes stuck up his @$$ that allows him to carry that sorry team to a win.
