The 2nd wave of free agency will begin tomorrow. Signings no longer count towards the comp pick formula as of May 2nd. I am guessing that we will see one of Hicks or Flowers back in New England in the next few days. Perhaps a re-signing of Van Noy or Collins.

Pats have $999k in cap space not counting the new rookies. What moves do you think are likely for them to sign vet FAs?

They also have about 87 players w/ UDFAs.

Hicks/Flowers, yes….KVN/Collins, pass.

They would create the cap space. They need to, anyway, to sign their rookies.

I’d welcome a return of flowers.

Why is Hicks still available? I would of thought that we would have competition to sign him.

Agree for the most part, but I think KVN still has a little left in the tank. He’s not what he was even three years ago but he’s not as broken down as Hightower. In a rotation, for low money, he would be fine.

I definitely want either or both Hicks and Flowers. With no LBs in the draft I think we could still use one and if I had my choice not sure what's left in the tank but I'd still prefer Hightower over KVN or Collins. I might be wrong that tank might be empty but with the younger guys around him I think Hightower would offer more than KVN or Collins.

Funny I just posted I'd prefer Hightower. Especially if Flowers is back I think we could use the help more at ILB than OLB. I guess KVN might have a little more gas left though.

I'd be ok with either but I think it should only be one.

Miguel has broken down how the Pats can easily free up tons of cap space. Not $20-30 million, but $12-15 million. Hell, they can free up $4 million of cap just by cutting their punter.

I think Flowers and Hicks could very well be back in Patriots uniforms. I don't see KVN or Hightower back. I heard yesterday that the Pats believe their starting LBs are already on the roster.

If I remember right then I heard a rumour that daron payne is on the trading block
Might be an interesting option if the price is right

That would be great. Signing FAs allows more flexibility to push $$ into future years.

I think that neither Van Noy nor Collins are back. Collins brought ZILCH to the team overall.

I think that Van Noy freelanced too much and it's why he didn't answer the question about Judon. Because he knew he'd be a hypocrite of he did.

I would like Payne and god on earl downs depending on the formation. Age is a plus to Hicks

I think part of the reason is that people didn't want to take the hit against the Comp Formula. Hicks isn't a spring chicken. He's got 1-2 years left ala Ted Washington or Keith Traylor.

They'd only free up about $3M if they cut Bailey. But they aren't cutting him. They signed a punter, like they always do, to make sure legs are fresh during camps.
