and have Lowe start at LT (until Simmons is ready) with Wallace as the backup for Game 1. What a plan!
1) Free agency is still an option.

2) Simmons is expected to be ready for the start of the season, and even if he isn't, we still have him for 5 years. Big picture, I wouldn't care if he misses the first few weeks of the season if he ends up being an All-Pro LT for us for the rest of his contract.

There 100 percent should of been.
I think was worse was KC not even getting off the bus to knock the Bengals out.
It's water under the bridge now but there were definitely a couple of plays McDermott called that made me think, "ok he's trying to stop us getting 1 overall here." If NE had punted instead of attempting a likely FG, we would have been docked our pick I'm sure of it.

Because they aren't the PAts and we know the NFL has a different standard for the Patriots than the other 31 teams...

I think it’s time for Patriot fans to let go of the paranoia that the league is out to get them. I think there was truth to it in the Belichick/Brady era, but that era is long gone, and I don’t think the league gives a **** about punishing one of the worst team’s in it. The team that tanked that day was clearly Buffalo, so if they can investigate a team the Bills should be it.

I wouldn’t mind drafting Georgia Tech’s TE Jackson Hawes & switching him to a full time Fullback. Just pure blocking; he’s better than Warren & up there with Gronk, Bowers, Kittle, Hocksenson & Bates. Nasty player. Blocks like a lineman.

I like TE Fannin. Not the fastest (4.71), but understands leverage, good route runner, great strong hands & excellent body control. Got most of his yards downfield; not via gimmick plays, screens, flea flickers etc….I think he’s a star in the right system. Fannin to TB, LAR, SF, CLE, KC or PHI.

There is a youtube video that someone is breaking down his blocking prowess and if you mute it its a good video. Dude is pretty adept at blocking on the move, so a switch to FB would probably work. He has pretty good receiving skills also, so he could move between TE and FB and be a weapon.

Warren is a better pass catcher and faster than Hawes, but Hawes is an EFFIN machine

That's one guy I'll have to see actually do it on an NFL field. He looks *amazing*, but like, he went to Bowling Green.

I was watching the Mike Giardi podcast yesterday and his co-host said that he had a couple of those mysterious 'NFL people" tell him that not only was Hawes the best run blocking TE, he was the best run blocker in the draft period regardless of position. Lofty claim, but I've been high on Hawes for a while because he does offer something very special as a run blocker and that's worthy of a roster spot.

Also, what better way to help a rookie LT than having a special blocker help in double teams or on chip blocks.

Meta AI predicts pats will select Membou at 4

Would be huge surprise
Campbell higher floor at LT
Membou higher ceiling

It seems wrong to expect a player to switch positions as a rookie and be a top player.

I understand Membou being rated as a better prospect for the next 5 years as an LT.

We need a reliable LT. If we go in that direction take the player more likely to stick at LT and not have to be moved to guard or RT.
I think that is Campbell.
Although I prefer trade back and take Tyler Warren or Jeanty
And try to get Connerly or Simmons with a trade up in late first

That would require 2 trades and I have zero confidence that Wolf could execute

Josh Simmons adds another new wrinkle he's the Perfect Left Tackle for us. I was a little leery of him because of the injury: but IF he's cleared I can see him being the pick on a Trade Down Josh Simmons 6-4 317 very athletic Big man. We know the Hunter/Carter possibility: If they're available I can see us Trading down getting very good returns. Our Biggest Need is a LT and Josh Simmons solves that he has very little negatives. With this awesome news about him being ahead of schedule: #4 IF Carter or Hunter is there might be for sale to the Highest Bidder... A First Rounder in 2026 will have to be included.
